Big Brother 9 Live Feeds, March 4th, Part Two – Secrecy and Speculation

Posted on Wednesday, March 5, 2008 in Big Brother

As the suitcase packing continues, Allison goes to Matt and tells him that the viewers of this show want drama – she knows how this show works, and if Allison leaves then Matt and Natalie are the only ones that will keep the drama going. She thinks that BB would rather have Sheila and Adam leave because they’re boring, so she’s pretty sure there’s a plan in the works to either save her or bring her back after tomorrow. I really hate the timing of this upcoming twist, because she’s really going to believe that it’s happening just for her and then she’ll be absolutely unbearable if she ends up staying.

Allison then goes to Ryan and says that Chelsia told her to wear the same outfit she entered the house in tomorrow night, so she can leave in the same outfit she came in with. Then Chelsia offered to lend Sheila something, so obviously Chelsia and James are voting to evict Allison and Ryan.

Now she’s telling Sheila that the sirens will go off tonight, and that there will be no live show this week and therefore no eviction, because the networks will be covering the presidential nomination races. She is absolutely certain that she’s either staying or returning.

The topic of conversation moves to the vote, and how Chelsia and James will tell her tonight how they’re voting. Even though they’ve already told her they’ll tell her tomorrow. She says she’s going to be really angry when they say they’re voting her out, and will threaten to never give them her vote in the end, even if she has to vote for Joshuah instead. The beauty of this upcoming twist is that, if hamsters end up coming back and Allison stays gone, she won’t even make the jury. That’s the only light at the end of the tunnel. Well, that and the possibility of getting Alex back.

Wait, where was I? Oh, right. Allison. Sigh.

She’s in the kitchen chopping something with a plastic knife. She ask Chelsia when they’re all going to find out how she and James are voting, and Chelsia says that she doesn’t want to do this now. Allison reminds her how stressful it is not knowing what’s going on, and Chelsia apologizes and says she’s just not comfortable with it right now. Allison won’t let it go, of course, and says that she’d like to say goodbye to people and she doesn’t know if she actually has to because of all the speculation.

Allison goes to get Ryan and tells him that he needs to come out there with her. He says no, he’s going to have a shower, and Allison flips out. She insists that he needs to come out in the kitchen right now, because shit’s going to go down. Ryan tells her to just wait a few minutes until he has a shower. She finally agrees, but now I’m starting to realize how Ryan ends up missing all the drama in the house.

While Ryan goes to have his shower, Allison storms back into the kitchen demanding to know what the vote will be. She says that she thought Chelsia didn’t care who left this week, and Chelsia responds that of course she cares. Joshuah and Chelsia change the subject, but Allison keeps changing it right back. She insists that everyone who’s left so far has known who was going home. James says that Alex and Amanda didn’t, and Allison says, “That’s because we didn’t tell them.” Um, hello?

Chelsia says that they’re not telling her, just like she didn’t tell Alex and Amanda. Allison says, “But we knew who we were voting for last week!” I wonder how many intelligence points I just lost from listening to that exchange.

Matt and Natalie? Are still counting things around the house.

Everyone leaves the kitchen except for Allison. Heh. She goes to find Natalie to see if she can get any info about her side of the vote. Natalie tells her that she’s not saying, because she doesn’t want to be bombarded with campaigning from the couple she’s not voting to save. Hey Allison? That’s a HUGE hint honey. Nat says she just wants to have a night with no drama, and not cause a big argument the day before the HoH comp.

Natalie’s talking to Adam, and she’s got a paper towel and her trusty nail polish, making notes about all of the things she’s counted today. She’s comparing the numbers to those in the bible, and saying that she feels god all around her today.

Allison is still trying to get info from someone, anyone, about how the vote is going to go down. She’s practically begging Matt to tell her, and he says he’ll sit down with her and talk and tell her everything after 1am. She doesn’t understand why no one will tell her, and thinks that James and Chelsia still want to make the vote 2-0, so she insists that Matt has to make it known that he’s voting to save her.

Matt tells her that she can’t rely on Chelsia, because after she helped Allison pick out her outfit for tomorrow, she went to everyone else and ragged on Allison’s clothes. Gah. Just feed the fire there Matty. He says that he doesn’t care how James and Chelsia are voting, and warns Allison to stop pushing the issue with him. She can’t let go though.

A whole group gathers, and Allison is still asking about the vote. Even Ryan says he doesn’t care and doesn’t want to talk about it until tomorrow. Sheila is fine with waiting until tomorrow. Allison? Not so much. Everyone asks her to stop bringing it up, and she actually says that she’s not. Can she hear herself? Does she have a short-term memory problem? She warns them never to talk to a woman in those tones. Good grief. Matt tells her she’s digging her own grave now, and that she’d better stop yelling at him or he’s going to go off on her. He tells her to leave the room, and she actually does.

BB is calling couples to the DR now, and Joshuah is starting to lose it a little. He’s pretty sure the siren is going to go off any moment now, and that it’s going to mess with his plan to get Allison out of the house. James and Chelsia seem sure of this too, as Chelsia tells James to keep some clothes near the bed so he doesn’t run out in his underwear. Thank you, Chelsia.

The HoH spy screen has been off all day, and Joshuah hasn’t been able to find the remote. He’s pretty sure that this has something to do with the twist as well, and asked in the DR what’s going on. He was told that the remote was broken and they’re fixing it, but he doesn’t believe it at all. He’s pacing around saying that there’s no way he’s going to be able to sleep tonight. He knows all about Natalie’s cheat sheet with the nail polish, and wants BB to confiscate it since it’s against the rules.

Joshuah is really freaking out. He’s upset he can’t watch the rest of the house on the spy screen, and even more upset that Allison might end up staying somehow, and then be the vote that gets him evicted next week. He says he’d never be able to recover from that. Sharon is trying to talk him down off the ledge, but it’s pretty pointless. He’s really wound up.

He goes downstairs and finds Sheila, who fills him in on all of Allison theories about the siren and how she thinks she’ll end up staying somehow, even if the vote is 1-1. Joshuah says that he’s so nervous his “insides are about to fall out of (his) rectum.”

Natalie insists that Matt spend some time with her now to go over the notes she’s made on the paper towel. She gets called into the DR so they can see the paper she’s got, but she comes out still holding it. Matt listens to her and looks at her pictures, but he doesn’t really seem to care a lot. He does tell her she’s done a good job though. Like a little pat on the head.

James and Chelsia have gone to bed, and Matt wants to hit the sack as well. That means Natalie will surely follow. Joshuah is trying to relax in the bathtub upstairs, and Sharon is talking to him in an attempt to calm him down. After his bath, Josh has something to eat and then walks around surveying the house.

Sharon looks at a picture of her and Jacob and begins to cry. Awww. The glass in the frame is broken – isn’t that bad luck or something? I’m not up on my superstitions. She leaves the photo and the broken frame in the storage room for repairs. A couple of minutes later, the BB staff member is shown on camera retrieving the picture.

Everyone’s in bed except Joshuah. Adam and James get up and go out for a smoke, and Josh hears them in the kitchen when they come back inside. He’s freaked out thinking there are strangers in the house. Poor Josh. He says that the people behind the walls are busy tonight, because he can hear them upstairs. He’s completely paranoid.

The boys all go to bed again, and Joshuah tosses and turns and stares at the ceiling until almost 5am. He’s going to be a tired and cranky boy in the morning!

Big Brother 9 Live Feeds, March 4th, Part One – Hashing Out the Votes

Posted on Wednesday, March 5, 2008 in Big Brother

BB decides that the first wakeup song this morning should be The Lonely Goatherd from The Sound of Music. Too funny. I really think they need to take requests though. I can think of a few dozen that would work, if only for the humour value. After the Interlude of the Fireplace, Sharon is laughing about the song choice. Apparently it was followed by some Hannah Montana, which Joshuah loved.

Josh is in a great mood today, because he gets to record his goodbye message to Allison. He proclaims this “Joshuah and Sharon Day.” So what – we get to walk around in our underwear and yell random insults at people? Or sit in bed and read a Precious Moments Bible in a bikini the same colour as our skin?

Other hamsters start getting out of bed, and most of them end up outside getting some sun. It’s pretty quiet out there. Couples are starting to be called to the DR, and they’re all surprised that it’s happening this early in the day.

Natalie once again reassures Joshuah that she and Matt are voting out Allison and Ryan. She says that Allison keeps reminding her that they owe her a vote, but they’re not planning on giving it to her. Matt comes along, and Natalie tells him that they need to study the house together today, because they have to win the HoH comp tomorrow. He agrees.

Allison begins her campaigning for the day, with her victims being James and Chelsia. She’s trying to tell them that Sheila and Adam are unpredictable, and they’d be better off taking them out of the game now. Chelsia tells her that she should have gone with them last week and voted out Matt and Natalie, and then Joshuah wouldn’t be after her so fiercely. James leaves, and Allison promises Chelsia anything she wants in the game, emphasizing how trustworthy she is.

Matt finally gets his conversation with James and Chelsia about the voting. This should be good. Matt wants to know if James wants the vote to be 2-0. James says it doesn’t matter, Allison’s leaving even if it’s 1-1. They discuss who they trust more (neither couple), who plays the comps better (Allison/Ryan) and who they’d rather take to the end (undecided). Chelsia says she loves Allison, but hates how she’s playing the game.

They float the idea of splitting the vote, so that Matt doesn’t have to go back on his word to Allison. Matt seems to like the idea, and then wonders if James will then also vote for Adam/Sheila and make it unanimous, thereby screwing Joshuah (metaphorically) and making them all targets. James wonders why he would do that, and offers his word. Matt says no, he knows how much someone’s word is worth in this game.

Natalie comes along, and they start talking about what the siren will be. Natalie thinks that they’re going to be split up and play individually, but the guys disagree. They point out it’s “‘Til Death Do Us Part.” Oh silly boys, obviously you don’t realize that BB’s themes only apply to a short part of the season.

James finally says that he’s voting for Adam to stay, and Matt can do what he wants. They shake on it, and James leaves. Matt tells Natalie that they can vote with James and Chelsia now, or give Allison and Ryan a sympathy vote to keep their word. He says that voting for Adam and Sheila might cause trouble for them with Joshuah and Sharon though.

At the same time, both Matt/Natalie and James/Chelsia get into arguments. Mattalie are outside, and Nat wonders why they should trust James because he hates her. Matt says he doesn’t hate her, and tells her she lives in her own little world. Somehow this turns into the “you never spend any time with be” spat, which I don’t need to recap for you. Just replay one of the previous ones and you’re good.

James and Chelsia are arguing because Chelsia doesn’t like the way James is handling the vote this week. He wants to tell everyone “the plan” tonight, and she wants to do it tomorrow. “The plan” is how the votes are going to go. I so don’t understand this whole situation. Why does anyone have to tell anyone else how they’re voting?

Allison comes out of the DR and cries to Chelsia. Sheila is outside crying as well, to Natalie. Natalie is offering her religious views as comfort, while Chelsia goes with hugs.

James and Chelsia have made up, and James is explaining that telling everyone tomorrow is better because it gives them less time to talk and plot. They seem to think there’s going to be some huge blowup because of the vote. Even though the entire week has been dedicated to getting rid of Allison. Ugh. James doesn’t want to go back on his word to Joshuah, so it’s set that they’re voting for Allison/Ryan. Again.

Allison is feeling sorry for herself, because she thinks that if she goes to sequester, Jen will yell at her again and Amanda won’t talk to her. She’ll be all alone. Boo hoo.

BB calls an outdoor lockdown, and Joshuah joins James and Chelsia. James fills him in on what’s happening, and says that he doesn’t know what Matt will do, but he does know that it will be Allison and Ryan leaving this week.

Sheila’s freaking out a little because no on is saying how they’re voting, and she could actually be leaving this week. Joshuah tells her not to worry, everything will be fine. Sharon agrees. Sheila starts wondering what the siren twist will be, and is absolutely sure it means that people are coming back.

Allison’s theory is that the siren is going to be something to mix the game up. Well, that’s freaking brilliant. Sheila thinks maybe the couples will be mixed up.

The lockdown is over, and Allison asks James if he’s talked to Matt about the vote yet. James says he has, and that he and Chelsia will sit down with her and Ryan tomorrow and explain everything. This doesn’t sit well with Allison.

Joshuah and Sharon get the camera, so it’s picture time. Matt tells Sheila, Allison and Ryan that Amanda started a rumour about Natalie giving Matt a blow job. Ha! Sheila says that she sleeps right beside them, and would know if something like that went down. Double ha!

Sharon and Chelsia decide together that even if there’s a change in the game and they end up playing individually, they’ll stick with each other and their partners. We’ll see how long that lasts, eh?

Natalie is counting and studying, and James tells Adam that he’s “helping” her by giving her the wrong numbers. Heh. Joshuah comes along and says that he doesn’t care if the sirens mean that he has to set his dick on fire, as long as Allison is still leaving tomorrow. The boys insist that the siren is going to be something good like a luxury comp or America’s Choice.

Allison is now saying that they should have voted Mattalie out last week. Well duh. She blames it all on Sheila and Adam for refusing to change their vote. That’s right Allison, keep shifting blame. You’re golden. She tells Ryan that she heard Chelsia saying that she wanted to go to the end with Sharon and Joshuah, so she knows that they’re not getting Chelsia and James’ vote. Ryan says he’ll talk to them.

Joshuah and James make their plan – James has to win HoH, and Josh has to win the veto. Argh. James says that he wants to take Natalie’s bible and hide it somewhere, and Joshuah admits that he’s been taking some of Allison’s things and hiding them around the house.

The suitcases are out and a couple of the nominated hamsters are starting to pack up their things. There’s a lot of milling around, no real talking, so this is as good a place as any to wrap up part one of the recap. See you soon for part two!

Big Brother 9 Live Feeds, March 3rd, Part Two – You’re Playing the Game Wrong!

Posted on Wednesday, March 5, 2008 in Big Brother

Trouble is brewing this evening between Matt and James. Matt thinks that James is after him, so he plans to get under his skin by hitting on Chelsia and spending a lot of time with her. James, on the other hand, is annoyed that Matt has promised his vote to both sides this week and thinks it’s shady.

James is getting antsy. He goes up to the HoH room where Sharon and Joshuah are once again holed up and tells them that he’s getting ready to call Matt out. On what? On playing the game? As much as it pains me to defend Matt, just because he’s not playing the same way James does is not a reason to “call him out.” Besides, both Adam and Ryan have already figured out what’s going on, so who benefits from this?

Chelsia comes up and James tells her to stay upstairs because he doesn’t want her involved in this. Yeah right. Good luck with that. He promises Josh and Sharon that his vote is still solid and they can still count on him, but he’s had enough and it’s time to say something to Matt.

James goes downstairs and outside, quickly followed by the other three. He tells Matt, Adam, and Ryan that he wants to have a chat after their pool game. And so it begins. James says that he knows Matt has promised his vote to both sides and he doesn’t like him telling people how he’s going to vote. Please. As if James can keep people from telling others how they’re going to vote. Matt honestly looks like he doesn’t care at all. He agrees that he did, and points out that this is Big Brother. It’s a game. People lie. And he wonders why this is any of James’ business. Dammit, I agree with Matt. That’s not good.

Matt brings up Operation Gardener, and Ryan wants to know what that is. Poor Ryan. He really doesn’t have a clue about things that are going on all around him. Someone tells him it’s about Allison, and that’s all he really needs to know. James tells Matt that he’s shady, and then starts to go inside. Chelsia comes running out and yells at Matt that it’s messed up that she has both nominated couples coming to her and telling her that Matt is voting to keep them in the game. She doesn’t know what to think. I know what I think – this whole situation in ridiculous.

Matt says something about Chelsia and James not telling anyone who they’re voting for, and Chelsia promises that she will tell “when the time comes.” Oh, and when would that be exactly? Sheila pipes up that it’s more stressful to have everything secretive and not know what’s going down. But then she says that people have to play the game the way they want to, and they can’t control others. I’m agreeing with Matt and Sheila. Welcome to Bizarro World.

Matt keeps insisting that “this is Big Brother.” At least the boy knows where he is. He says that he didn’t want people bugging him about his vote this week, so he just told them both he was keeping them. Ryan asks him if he knows who he’s voting for, and he says he does. But he’s not telling. Neener neener. James insists that it’s wrong to make those promises when he’s lying to one of the couples, and Matt counters that he tried to talk to James and Chelsia about the vote, but they wouldn’t discuss it with him. Wow. Matt’s winning a fight that actually requires a bit of logic. Where’s Natalie’s tin foil hat?

Now James is yelling that he burned Matt, so now Matt thinks he’s going to burn everyone else. What the hell? Matt agrees that yes, James broke a promise to him. People please. That’s so last week. Sheila pipes up again and says that keeping the votes secret is stressful, and that they should all just lay everything out on the table. Honestly, have these people ever actually seen the show before?

Chelsia shouts that she and James are playing the game straight up and not being shady, promising votes and then going back on their word. Matt and Natalie are playing the wrong way. Natalie says that they did go back on their word last week. Sheila asks if this means that Chelsia and James are going to say who they’re voting for then, and James starts to backpedal. Chelsia, however, says she will.

Now James wants to know who told Natalie that he’d use her schizophrenic mother against her to break her down and make her cry. Nat won’t mention any names, and when James starts getting riled up again, she says, “god bless you.” Heh. Chelsia says they would never do that to her because it’s sick. Matt actually defends James and says that he didn’t say anything about that.

The argument starts to settle down now, and small groups are breaking off to talk. Ryan tells Matt that this strategy of his might turn around and bite him in the ass when it comes to jury votes. Meanwhile, Natalie is telling Chelsia and Joshuah that they told Allison and Ryan they were keeping them just so that Allison wouldn’t campaign for their votes constantly. Joshuah mentions that the theory has been floated that, if the vote ends up being 1-1, Natalie and Matt will blame Chelsia and James for the dissention. Natalie swears she would never do that. She’s got a point – she’s a terrible liar.

Matt explains to James that he’s in a tough spot, because he owes three couples for keeping him and Natalie the week before, and now two of those couples are on the block and want him to return the favor. James starts to wonder if it’s Chelsia’s fault that he blew up at Matt, because she’s getting paranoid. Matt agrees that the women are messing them up. Ah, there’s the old Matt. Welcome back.

Everything’s back to normal now – well, as normal as one could hope for, anyway. Sharon gives James a massage, and Natalie is telling Sheila her views on this season’s casting. Natalie and Matt are the “cute couple,” Sheila and Adam are the “old married couple,” and she doesn’t know how the hell James and Chelsia even got chosen to move into the house. Sheila agrees and calls James a “young Evel Dick.” Oh no. No no no. That’s just so very wrong, on so many levels.

Joshuah sounds frustrated and fed up. This was supposed to be a simple week for him, with his only aim to get Allison out of the house. All he needs is one single vote, and this aim will be accomplished. Natalie promises him and Sheila that she and Matt are voting for Allison and Ryan.

Allison, who has been thankfully quiet and absent lately, is now talking to Ryan and Adam about trying to buy people’s votes by promising them part of their stipend. Ryan says he’s done this and … flames. Hee.

James and Joshuah are in the sauna with Chelsia, trying to convince her to mess with Matt this week and try to flirt with him. She agrees, and says that she’ll bad-mouth him in the diary room, making fun of his lazy eye and chicken legs. This is the girl who plays straight-up, yo.

Matt goes upstairs to talk to Sharon. He rubs her back, they kiss, he figures everything’s fine again. He even gives the camera a big smile. Bleh – I liked the other Matt better. Marginally better, but still. Joshuah wants to rip up some paper towels and make confetti for Allison’s eviction. Sharon talks him out of it though. Party pooper!

Joshuah and Sharon head upstairs for bed, and the others stand around yapping about sex and game shows and all kinds of stuff. Natalie is busily counting things in the house, preparing for the upcoming HoH competition I guess. She tries to recruit Matt into counting with her, but he gives up when his brain starts to hurt. Which doesn’t take long, of course. Natalie says something about there being 27 letters in the alphabet, so immediately all of her counting is suspect.

Eventually everyone goes to bed. James gets up and has some solo sauna time, and then walks around the kitchen and grabs a snack. He’s up for over an hour before heading back to bed with Chelsia. She must be thrilled that he goes and sweats in the sauna and then crawls back in bed with her without showering. And now all that we can hear on the feeds are the sounds of Ryan and Adam snoring.
