Big Brother 9, America’s Choice – Who Are You Voting For?

Posted on Thursday, March 6, 2008 in Big Brother

It’s our first time to actually have any say in the Big Brother house this season, and we get to vote one of the evicted houseguests back in. We could go through the whole “is it fair or not” thing, but instead, let’s focus on our choices since it’s going to happen anyway, whether we like it or not.

To help you in your decision, I’ve put together this handy list of pros and cons for each of the six hamsters. In order of eviction, we have:

Jacob

Pros:

  • We didn’t get to know him at all, except for the whole “turning up the chicken” thing. So this would give him some face time.
  • Sharon would flip her noodle.
  • From the little we did see of him, he’s a strategic disaster. So that’s always fun.

Cons:

  • We’d end up having another couple with an existing relationship in the house.
  • Viewers have probably already forgotten him.
  • He probably wouldn’t stir things up too much after the initial shock wore off. He’d be out the door as soon as he came back in, a la Kaysar.

Jen

Pros:

*crickets*

Cons:

  • More sex in the bathroom with Ryan.
  • More crying. Lots more crying.
  • She’d be targeted immediately as well, so what’s the point?

Parker

Pros:

  • More quotables for the feed recaps, such as “I’m a grown-ass man!”
  • He’ll be on a mission to stir things up.

Cons:

  • He’s annoying as hell.
  • For a grown-ass man, he sure has a lot of temper tantrums.
  • He’s got no game.

Amanda

Pros:

  • She’ll stir things up in a big way, and probably be able to secure some kind of alliance to stick around more than a week.
  • Her diary rooms are always good for a giggle.
  • It’ll really annoy Joshuah.
  • You want drama? She’ll bring the drama in spades.

Cons:

  • Bueno!
  • With no one around to keep her booty shorts and high heels in check, she’ll be hanging out all over the place. Literally.
  • Much of her drama is manufactured, so it’s impossible to take her seriously.

Alex

Pros:

  • Eye candy for the ladies.
  • He got screwed over because everyone wanted his partner out, so he arguably deserves another chance.
  • He seemed to learn a lot about the game (especially in regards to campaigning to save his ass) after being evicted the first time, so hopefully he’s come back ready to play.
  • There may be some Showmance tension between Alex and Matt over Sharon. If you’re into that kind of thing, it’s a pro.

Cons:

  • He’ll align immediately with Matt.
  • He pretty much rolled over and played dead when he was nominated the first time, so if he didn’t learn his lesson, we’re in for some boring game play.

Allison

Pros:

  • She’ll have the dubious distinction of being the only hamster to be voted out three times in one season.
  • She’ll mess up every single person’s game. All of ‘em. Especially Joshuah’s.

Cons:

  • If we vote her back in, she’ll think “America” loves her. Then she’ll get out and figure out that she’s not all that loved, and suffer a nervous breakdown. Do we want to be responsible for that?
  • She’ll be completely unbearable if she gets voted back in. I mean more than before.
  • She’s SO impossible to listen to on the feeds. You really don’t want to do that to us, do you?

I’m actually torn between wanting to amp up the drama and the desire to only allow sane people back in. So it’s either Amanda or Alex, with Alex being the sole person in the running who has more than two active brain cells to rub together. Are you voting? Who’s your choice, and why?
