Big Brother 9 Live Feeds, March 14th, Part One – James and the Giant High Horse
It’s time to rise and shine at just after 8:00 this morning. Sharon complains that her arms still hurt from the endurance comp. Lots of morning hustle and bustle going on, as everyone seems to be psyching themselves up for the PoV comp. There’s some chatter about hearing the BB people building something for the competition outside.
Ryan spends some more time studying the little puzzle inside the guinea pig cage. He’s pretty sure it all hinges on this, and I guess Natalie’s theories are starting to sink in. This could be interesting.
Most of the guys are still trying to sleep, so BB gives them a reminder that it’s time to get up for the day. Joshuah is complaining that it’s so hard getting up and baring his soul to America every day. Cry me a river Josh. It’s not like you didn’t know what you were getting into when you signed the contract.
There’s lots of nervous energy in the house this morning, and it doesn’t help that Adam is walking around shouting that it’s a “big PoV! Fuckin’ huge!” At least I can understand him now. It took weeks to get to this point though.
Sheila is enjoying being back in regular clothes. She mentions that she was asked about the guinea pigs in the DR, so they’re all pretty sure that the veto comp will have something to do with the cage or what’s inside it. Matt tells Natalie to go help Sheila study, but Nat says that her brain isn’t big enough for the both of them. See? Many times I don’t have to add any snark whatsoever.
We’re getting some odd camera shots this morning. There have been feeds devoted to the guinea pig cage, the front door, the bathroom door, and an empty living room. We get flames for a few minutes so they can pick the magic ping pong balls (yes, I know they’re chips this season). Joshuah, Chelsia, and Matt are playing, and Natalie is hosting.
Chelsia gives James a massage, and they’re both complaining that their muscles are still aching from the endurance comp. Adam keeps laughing at everyone saying that they’re still in pain, but he gets it back when they point out he only held on for five minutes.
And … now everyone except Sheila is napping. She heads over to the guinea pig cage but only looks in for a few moments before going back to bed herself. She stares at the ceiling and starts crying again. Suck it up Sheila, you’ve got a veto to win.
BB calls for an HoH lockdown. Everyone’s still pretty drowsy, and there’s not a whole lot of conversation in there. It doesn’t matter anyway, because soon we’ve got flames and it looks like the comp is on. My guess is that they have to take turns doing whatever it is the competition is based on, and then the fastest or highest score wins.
While we’re waiting, I’d like to address James’ theory that he’s not backdooring anyone this week, and if anyone does get backdoored then it’s the veto-winner’s fault for changing the nominations. James dear, I realize that you’re having fun riding your newly found high horse, but let’s put this in perspective. If your theory is true, then Chelsia backdoored you last week. Since you’ve decided to put people on the block this week who “screwed you over,” you might want to consider nominating your girlfriend if the veto is used. Because it has to work both ways.
Nearly three hours later …
We’re back, and it looks like James has won the veto. Sheila is in bed crying saying she hates this game, and Natalie is promising James that she has his back. Everyone is pretty sure the nominations are going to stay the same, and that James wants Ryan out. Natalie is planning to make steak and potatoes for dinner – I wonder if she knows that today is Steak and a Blow Job Day? I guess we’ll find out later.
Matt is still afraid that he’s going to be backdoored, but Natalie says no way, James promised to keep his word to her. They want to try and work Joshuah to vote for Sheila so they can keep Ryan in the game. James and Chelsia take a shower together in the HoH room while most of the others decide once again that it’s nap time.
Apparently the PoV comp had something to do with a giant guinea pig cage, complete with wood shavings. James is saying that Sheila did better than Ryan, so he’s going to use that as an excuse to vote Ryan out if it’s a tie on Wednesday night. But James, you said before that you’re going to be straight-up with people, so you shouldn’t need an excuse. Sorry, I’m enjoying this “make-fun-of-James” thing.
James gets called to the DR, and when he comes out Sheila wants to talk to him. He tells her that he’s not changing the nominations, and that if it comes down to a tie in votes he’ll be voting our Ryan. She’s not his target this week, but she did double-cross him last week so that’s why she’s on the block. They chat for a while, wondering why everyone’s protecting Matt and how James feels that he hasn’t made any strong connections with people besides Chelsia, and that sooner or later he’s going to have to turn on her. Sheila mentions that she’s afraid Joshuah is going to verbally come after her.
Sheila tries to explain that it was supposed to be Josh that was nominated last week instead of James, and that Ryan made the decision to target James instead. She says that she’s playing the game for herself now because she can’t count on anyone else in the house. James says that he really wants Matt gone, and that he’ll try and work on whoever the HoH is next week to get him nominated. He also says that Adam would not have been the replacement nomination if the veto was used this week.
James seems to think that he came back into the game with a clean slate, and that Matt and Natalie shouldn’t be after him anymore since he didn’t nominate them this week. Is he ever in for a rude awakening if one of them wins HoH next week.
Now Joshuah, James, and Matt are talking about the vote. James recommends that the others should do what they did last week and target the stronger player. Matt says that he’s looking at it differently, trying to decide which person he owes more to. He doesn’t think he owes Sheila anything, but James is trying to point out that Sheila campaigned for him last week. Yeah, but Ryan turned his back on a plan that would have kept him safe for two weeks, so let’s weigh this one out, shall we?
Sheila is campaigning but saying that she’s not campaigning to Natalie and Sharon. She points out that Jen won $5,000 and Ryan won $10,000, so they’ve already got more money than the rest of them. She tells Natalie that she’s lied to people in the house, but never to her. Thanks to Joshuah’s lies, Natalie thinks Sheila blames her for not including her in the deal to keep Matty safe though, so I doubt this is going over very well.
Sharon pipes up that she didn’t stress while she was on the block (oh really?) because if it was her time, it was her time. Like Jameka last season, she thinks it’s all predetermined anyway. I’ll spare you my thoughts on that this time. Sharon doesn’t think that anyone should campaign. Gah.
Sheila then goes to Adam to ask for his vote. He doesn’t really want to hear it though, so she complains instead that she’s the one who went around comforting people when they were nominated, and now no one’s coming to her to offer an ear or a shoulder.
Natalie, James, Joshuah, and Chelsia seem to think the tide is turning and Sheila is in danger this week. Of course James isn’t happy about this. He seems to think that America voted on whether or not to let them play as singles. Please. America voted to send Alex back in, and look how that turned out. They think maybe, if Ryan leaves, they may have to go back to being couples. Josh is the logical one here (which must be a sign of the apocalypse) and says that there probably won’t be any more huge twists, but they’ll be doing stuff like competitions at night and likely a double elimination week.
The hamsters now have a new toy to play with – an oversized croquet set that’s recycled from last season. I guess they didn’t have time to shop for new props this year. Since most of the conversations have broken up while the houseguests play in the backyard, we’ll chop this recap off here and continue with part two … coming up next.
