Big Brother 9, Season Overview/Finale
Another season of Big Brother has come to a close, and I have to say I feel a little differently this year. Normally at this time, I’m really sorry to see it go, wondering what I’ll do with my time, but silently feeling relieved to be done with it for another year. But this time, I’m not really sorry at all, I know what I’ll do with my time, and I’m not silent at all.
So what was the problem with the season? Was it all just too rushed to fit it in during the writers’ strike? This couldn’t have helped them garner ratings. Reruns probably would have sufficed. We were all so excited with the theme of Dirty Little Secrets, but truthfully, the secret that affected the game the most was that the guinea pigs were sisters. Where will the sisters go anyway? Is there a guinea pig retirement home somewhere? Is Sharon placing a bid, or would she feel guilty taking them and not Cammo the Slug?
It seemed with the pairing of everyone into couples, and having everyone be single and very sexually charged, that BB was looking for just that, some major business going on under the sheets. But we didn’t just have that, we also had orgies in the pool, strip shows, people masturbating, James walking around with a sock on it, Adam threatening to show people his hooded warrior, and after awhile, it just wasn’t fun.
After all that calmed down, the couples were broken up, and the more sexually charged people left, it was finally time to get down to business, and only then did the game become interesting. Unfortunately for James, it was too late for him, as he was right that on top of him being a competitive threat, he was also taking the heat for his new girlfriend Chelsia’s antics. He had to go, which was too bad, as I would have liked to see him compete and scheme these past few weeks.
Somewhere along in there, Adam and Ryan just go too ahead of themselves, and the girls just let them do it. They already had the game won, and both knew what they had to do to secure their place. Their most competitive threat, with James now gone, was Natalie. They had to pick some fights with her to give reason to get rid of her. They knew they could easily sail into the final two after this, and they did, although they still had to keep the game interesting by stringing along Sharon and Sheila until the last final minutes.
In the end, can they be blamed? No, they were only doing what they had to to win. And looking at the whole season, Adam deserves this win. He’s a smart guy and good at comps, and threw them when he needed to to not seem like a threat. His game was compromised from the beginning by being paired with an aging pinup, but he made it work, and even though they seemed to hate each other, he found a way to have her keep him safe and keep helping him out in the game. Who would have imagined that in the very end, they would be the only couple that stayed true to each other?
Ryan did well, but knew he didn’t deserve it over Ryan, as he was good at comps, but he was too easily pulled whichever way the wind was blowing. He’ll take his $60,000 and go home with Jen, but they were dating less than a year before this long separation. I see them getting back to their life and their dog, and in a few months, going their separate ways. She won’t be able to stand not being the most important thing in his life anymore, and that’s probably why she rushed up onstage to stand right in front of him. We never got to see him after Adam’s win. We just say the top of his head behind Jen. It has to kill her that she was the one that wanted to come on the show so badly, and he didn’t really want it, and he’s the winner, while she left the second week.
I hope Sheila can get it together, and that she realizes the most important thing in her life is her son, not the fame. She had the fame and high life once, but it’s gone. She can’t rely on her looks as she once did, and she never found a way to parlay her life into success unless it was based on her looks. I’m hoping with the writing of the book, she’ll begin to be more introspective, and will realize the drug-addicted Finnish rock star is not the guy she should have left in charge of her impressionable son. Maybe instead of writing a tell-all book of her life as a Penthouse Pet, she can write a book for young girls on how to find some self worth that they’ll have all their lives, after their looks are gone. She’s only 46. Her life does not need to be in the crapper.
I can’t believe Sharon is entertaining the thought of being with Jacob again, but then again, they’ve been with each other since they were so young, it’s really all they know. And why was it he jumped up on that stage to hug Adam before anyone else? Yeah, he was his buddy in the house, but that was a few months ago. Many things have changed.
Natalie seems to realize the mistakes she made with Matt, but I don’t buy it at all that she was never in love with him. We all saw it. And why did Julie bring that up to Matt, asking him a thousand times if there was something he wanted to say before they showed a clip, then never show a clip? I felt cheated, and Natalie should too, but for very different reasons.
James is probably right with his statement that we heard during the final HOH head to head comp. He and Chelsia probably don’t have a future at all. Although, it will be interesting to see what he does with that $25,000. I know he wanted the final 2 to blow their cash, but I hope he doesn’t blow his. He could finish biking around the world on that and finish he dream. And hopefully buy some new pants. I swear those light blue ones are girls pants.
As far as everyone else, it’s a shame Julie didn’t give us a chance to hear from them at all. Of all the questions to ask the non-jury members, why ask Jen about her feelings about Allison. I liked that she still hates her, and Allison wasn’t even close to being truthful about her feelings, but why not ask Alex how he felt to be voted back into the house by fans, but not the other HGs. Why not ask him how he felt about Sheila’s Alex Doll? Why not ask Parker about the paparazzi filming him filming others now? Why not ask Jacob if he still wants to be with Sharon after she said she’s willing to give him another chance? So many other things to discuss, other than Jen and Allison.
And that theme carried right on over to The Early Show this morning. We saw Ryan and Adam get their checks, and Ryan admitted he would have felt this whole experience would have been a waste had he not earned at least the $50,000, I suppose forgetting about the earlier $10,000, and Adam talked about both of them deserving it. Oh, and we found out the rest of the votes. It was 6-1 in favor of Adam, so the only vote Ryan got was from Josh.
Here’s a clue, BB. For season 10, we want to see some people with personalities. We want an Evel Dick, a Janelle, a Danielle, a Kaiser, a Howie, etc. And quit feeling like you have to either invite secret pairs or pair people up. Stop it. Just stop. Give us interesting people to watch and to write about. You better start now, as you only have two-and-a-half months to get it done.

Big Brother 9 Live Feeds, April 26th – The Countdown Begins
This recap is going to be short, because when I say that nothing really happened in the house today, it’s like saying that Natalie might be a little bit clueless, or that Joshuah was slightly over the top, or even that Ryan enjoys a light snack every now and then. Understatement of the season. Even if you like one or both of the people in the final two, the end days are never that interesting. So fortify your will and your coffee cup/beer mug, and let’s just get this over with.
Topic of the Day: There’s not a whole lot of conversation going on, but the boys do spend some time discussing what they’re going to do when they get out of the house. Adam is going to make a ton of phone calls to tell all of his buddies that their boy is back. I’m sure they’ll be thrilled. Ryan still thinks he’s going to meet Cameron Diaz at the movie premiere that he has to attend with Sharon, but mostly he’s looking forward to some horizontal action with Jen.
Adam summarizes their immediate plans by saying that, in 24 hours, he’ll be at the tittie bar with his friends while Ryan will be doing his girl. This is the first final two I’ve seen that hasn’t been actively dreaming of the wrap party.
Today’s Menu: Ryan appears to want to leave no food uneaten in the BB house. After lots of snacking throughout the day, Adam decides to cook up a whole head of cabbage along with an entire stick of butter. They eat this with leftover steak and chicken. The finishing touch is cookies, fresh from the oven. (They don’t actually make these from scratch of course – they’re of the slice and bake variety.)
Vote Counter and Jury Rehash: Adam thinks Ryan is going to win by a vote of 5-2. Ryan says he doesn’t care anymore. There’s a bit of banter about how it would suck to be Sheila, and make it almost to the end and still only walk away with a stipend and not the big money.
BEEBEES: Adam actually chops up some peppers and feeds the guinea pigs. This doesn’t occur until the evening though, and I’m sure Sharon is wishing she got to take the sisters with her to the sequester house.
Mystery Music: Late in the evening, Ryan hears some music outside and thinks there’s a party going on. It sounds like an orchestra practice or something. Ryan and Adam are locked indoors, and Ryan is annoyed that someone’s having a party out there and the two of them can’t even listen in.
Last Day Plans: Even though both boys have slept most of the day away, they both want to head to bed early tonight. Adam mentions that he’s going to stay awake until midnight to fulfill his Big Brother: After Dark obligations, and then he’s going to just sleep the entire last day until it’s time to get ready for the live finale.
Ryan would rather get up early and enjoy his last day in the house. I’m not sure exactly what that will entail – it’s not like he hasn’t had the last two days to enjoy in relative solitude.
Adam decides he’s going to wear a black shirt for finale night, and gets it all ironed and ready to go so that he won’t have anything to do tomorrow. He packs up most of his stuff while “fulfilling his BB:AD obligations,” which must be as riveting for ShoToo subscribers as it is for me.
Quotes of the Day: “This place ain’t all that messy without Big She.” – Adam
“It’s not the size of the guinea pig in the fight, it’s the size of the fight in the guinea pig.” – Ryan
“Goodnight America!” – Adam

Big Brother 9 Live Feeds, April 25th – Wake Me When it’s Over
It’s all over but the final vote now, and the two hamsters we’re stuck with for the next three days have nothing to do but sleep and complain. Both of which they seem to excel at. I was kind of hoping that the boyz would actually try to have some fun now, maybe have a few laughs while wasting away their last few days in the house. Doesn’t look like that’s about to happen, sadly.
Jury Questioning Rehash (or “Most of the Day”): After sleeping until mid-afternoon, the guys waste no time in slamming the jury members. Adam can’t figure out why Josh hates him so much, and is concerned that he’s had enough time in the sequester house to turn some votes away from him. The guys decide Chelsia is a “bulldog bitch.” You won’t hear any arguments from me.
Next up is Sheila-bashing. They think she’s spiteful. Sharon apparently told Ryan that Jacob liked Adam, and that Ryan would really have to work to get her vote. She also claimed that she saw Ryan wink at Adam after the eviction vote, so she knows he went back on their final two deal. Of course Ryan keep denying there was any such deal to begin with. These guys are really, really hateful, and it floors me that they can’t grasp how the people on the jury feel, and that this is their only opportunity before the vote to get answers. They seem to have been expecting everyone to break into rounds of “For He’s a Jolly Good Fellow.”
Ryan wants to “squish” Joshuah under his arm pit for his guinea pig comment. They regret leaving nice goodbye messages for Sheila because she was horrible to them and they both hate her now. They agree that James was the coolest one on the jury. Probably because he already knows who he’s voting for and didn’t really need to ask them anything important.
They even think Matt was an asshole last night, asking Adam about the business he was planning to start with Natalie. Ryan thinks Sheila told Matt about it. Think about that for a minute. Natalie, confirmed Matt-stalker and nicknamed “Chatty Natty”, who has been in sequester with him for over a week, wouldn’t be the one to pass on this little nugget of info? Hello?
They decide that they’re not going to let a bunch of bitter haters ruin the rest of their vacation. We’ll see how long that lasts.
Projected Vote Count: Ryan is sure that Adam will win because he has that whole “fuckin’ autism thing” going. He wishes he had thought to start a charity before going into the house. I wish he had scheduled a lobotomy. I’m really starting to understand the whole Jen/Ryan relationship though.
Adam figures it will go 3-3 and that Big She will be the deciding vote. He figures that she’s so pissed off at him by now that she’ll vote for Ryan.
BEEBEES: The guineas run around excitedly while the guys make their lunch, but Ryan is pissed off even at them. He tells them that their Mommy isn’t there anymore, so they can just fuck off.
Fun Stuff: There really isn’t much. Ryan tries to alleviate some of his boredom by chasing bugs around in the backyard with bug spray. Sharon would be horrified.
Ryan puts bubbles in the hot tub, and it completely overflows. These guys were so pissed off yesterday that the jury joked around about them being a gay couple, and now they’re planning to sit in a bubble-infested hot tub together. Too bad they didn’t save any champagne from the other night. The mounds of bubbles end up acting as a massive bug trap, and Adam ends up skimming the bugs out of the foam with the pool net.
BB tells the guys a riddle: The poor have it, the rich don’t want it, and if you eat it you will die. Isn’t that like the oldest riddle out there? The answer is “nothing,” but our two mental giants don’t seem to be able to figure it out. Two hours later they’re still trying to get it, and decide there’s no answer.
Woulda/Shoulda/Coulda: The boys are regretting that they didn’t just tell the jury “don’t hate the player, hate the game.” Right, ’cause that would have gone over really well. They figure that they will walk out of the house together, with their heads held high, saying this. Won’t they be disappointed when they find out that they don’t actually walk out together.
Future Plans: Ryan and Adam are planning to start up a business together when they get out of the house. They won’t talk much about it though, because those of us on the live feeds could steal their brilliant ideas. I don’t think they have a lot to be worried about.
These two also think they’re going to appear on every talk show around, including The Daily Show and Letterman. First, I don’t think Jon Stewart cares about Big Brother. Second, I know Letterman hates reality TV. Also, Adam thinks he’s going to tear Letterman a new one on the show, because he attended a taping once and Dave was rude to Mary J. Blige. The mind boggles.
The Last (Kraft) Supper: Adam goes to cook up a frozen pizza, and they discover that it’s the last Kraft pizza they have. Ryan is suddenly nostalgic, and wants to commemorate the eating of their last Kraft in the house together. And then he wonders why Josh asked if he’s eaten the guinea pigs yet. Sigh.
Quotes of the Day: “Where’s everybody at, dude? Oh, right, we got rid of them all.” – Ryan
(After deciding that their chess days in the house are done) “I’m Big Baller Fisher” – Adam
My Thoughts: Like Laura, I’ve gone back and forth with these hamsters all season long. At first I didn’t like any of them, then I tried to root for some of them, and now that it’s almost said and done, I really can’t stand most of them. Somehow, though, a Ryan win here would just be the rancid icing on the turd cake that has been this whole season. At least I could stomach Adam winning it, although I’m not completely sure why that is.
Maybe there will be one final twist, and America can just vote to give Rupert another million dollars instead.

Big Brother 9, Live Feeds, April 24th, Another Day In Paradise
Strategy Talks: Ryan and Adam get word that jury questioning will happen at midnight. They’re really suprrised, as they didn’t know this would be happening. They just thought they’d be giving the jury speeches to entice them into voting for them. They also talk about not realizing how the 3 part HoH would work. They thought the first out in the endurance comp wouldn’t be able to play the next night for part 2. Now, what sense does that make? Why would it be the person that won part 1 and the other person playing again?
Ryan thinks Sharon is going to ask if they are taking care of her fur-riends and thinks Sheila will ask what he’ll spend the money on. Adam probably gets closer, thinking she’ll ask if he threw the last HoH. Adam proposes a question to Ryan, asking why he deserves to win over Sheila, and his response is fuck it; she didn’t deserve it.
Adam practices his prepared speech, planning to use the autism card, and letting the jurors know they can make it all possible. He plans to say he is there to help the children and family members affected by autism and that everything he has had in his life he has earned. He wants to say he played a well-balanced game and took time away from his career to do this for the kids. He did what he had to to win, took risks, made alliances, and gave people breaks when he needed to, as it’s not about winning the most comps. I don’t know about this group, but jurors in years past would have chewed him up and spit him out after that load of crap.
Ryan figures the jury is fucked up already, and they’ll get some mean drunken questions. He’s most likely figuring it right. They talk about only hearing the jury and not seeing them, and Ryan wishes they didn’t have to do it in the living room, but could do it somewhere else, mentioning the sitting area up by HoH wasn’t used much this year, other than Sharon spying and being a moley mole.
Smoke Watch: Adam is now at a point to thank BB for helping him quit smoking. This is a huge improvement for him after begging Allison Grodner for smokes yesterday.
BeeBees Moment of the Day: Adam walks by the guinea pig cage and asks what’s wrong with BooBoo, thinking maybe he’s dead. Ryan counters that he’s depressed, as he’s upset about the whole Sharon deal. Adam even tries to say BeeBees the same way Sharon used to, but Ryan says he sucks at it and thinks Sharon annoyed her fur-riends too.
Jurors Strike Back: After the midnight jury questioning, Adam says that James, Chelsia, Matt, and Natalie were surprisingly the most level-headed, where Sharon, Sheila, and Josh were just crazy. He says Hoops came out. He also feels it’s good the jurors will all be separated after this so they can’t stew on all this together. Adam thinks James is a good dude, smart and level-headed, and could have won the game.
Of all the bizarre possible questions, Josh asked Ryan if he was going to eat the GPs, and Adam brought up to Josh how he had cried on Adam’s shoulder. The other jurors were trying to make gay jokes about Ryan and Adam, and Adam admits to being close to snapping. Ryan is denying the F2 deal with Sharon, so she must have brought that up. Adam thinks they’re all fucking morons, because throwing comps is part of the game. Sounds like he got called out on what he feared he would be. He can’t believe Sharon actually thinks she threw the comps.
Ryan talks about Sheila feeling she did a lot to get Adam to the end of the game, and this causes Adam to rant about the time Sheila put him on the block, making him win PoV to save himself. And what about the time you put her on the block? He also mentions he was the one saving her from eviction the first three times, and wonders how she thought she was saving him, unless she means when Natalie was after him.
Adam hopes Josh gets old with cancer and dies, calling him an MF. Adam figures the jury must see a lot of tapes of what happens in the house, and if he does All Stars, he knows what not to do now, no bragging. You think? He says whatever, they won, and they’re still “her N-word.” That’s right, people. I’ll type fuck, but not the N word. They mention that Sheila told them both they suck about four times and that they had to sit and bite their tongues. That’s a first.
Adam goes to get the rulebook and reads that the jurors are shown nomination ceremonies, veto meetings, evictions, and other group events. They aren’t shown any private conversations or DRs. I’m hoping he doesn’t think that means those of us at home didn’t see any of it either, and that the jurors won’t eventually find out all the nasty things they said, like saying if he were Jorge he’d go back to alcohol too, if he he had to sleep with Sheila.
Adam does point out that whoever goes into the SH can tell them whatever they want about what was said and done. He thinks that Sheila and Josh will probably vote for Ryan now, but Ryan disagrees because of Adam’s charity thing, thinking he should have come up with something like that as well.
Ryan hopes if he has to go to the premiere of What Happens In Vegas with Sharon, that it doesn’t have to be after he doesn’t get her vote. Adam hates Sheila, as she told Natalie he hated their morning routine. He wonders if you can spit in a person’s face here and still get the prize money. He suggests having his brother do it. Nice.
Maybe They are Human: Ryan states that he wishes Matt was nicer to Natalie as she would have done anything for him, then played with a ladybug on his hand for awhile.
Quote of the Day: “Put your money where your mouth is Adam.” – Sheila in a leak from somewhere in the vicinity of the house after the jury questioning. She also called him a liar, saying she doesn’t want to give somebody like that money, despite the fact he played a good game.
My Thoughts: It sounds like Ryan and Adam got skewered by the jurors pretty good, although I don’t think it’s matching Erica or the Friendship’s shellshock. Regardless, it’ll make for a few great moments on Sunday’s show when we the jury go for the jugular.
Bottom line, even though he was skewered, after a few days to think about who deserves to win this game the most, Adam will be walking away with a motorcycle and $500,000, while Ryan leaves with $60,000 to start his life over with Jen.

Big Brother 9, Live Feeds, April 23rd, The Big Day and No Cigs
Before Eviction Strategy Talks: Sheila wants to talk to Adam and can’t, as Ryan shadows him all day long, or she says, Ryan is “stuck so far up Adam’s ass, I can’t get near him.” A few minutes later, as she’s on a lounger near the one the guys are sharing, she says she finally got what Julie asked, whether they’d rather be sitting with someone they can beat or someone who deserves it. She resolves to be happy for one of them winning and not be bitter. While the guys aren’t going to vote for each other if one gets voted out, she won’t be like that. She’ll decide after she separates truth from lies who was good to her.
She thinks if James was smart, and had he come back without the attitude, he’d still be there. At this point Ryan just has to mention he came back as well and is still there.
Trying one more time before the live show, Sheila goes to Adam and he tells her again that Adam said he wouldn’t vote for him in the end if he picks her. She wonders why he thinks he owes Ryan anything. She wants him to realize the reason Ryan wants to take him is because he thinks he can beat him.
While Sheila is in the DR just before the live show, Adam confirms he’ll keep Ryan, and says Sheila will be pissed, but she’ll get over it in four days.
Before Eviction Quotes: “Jesus, can you be more rude?” — Adam, talking about BB telling him to shut his mouth and stop talking after 1 AM. Lay off them, Adam, they were only doing us a favor.
Before Eviction Ominous Moment: Sheila finishes packing, then while cleaning up she asks whose shorts are laying out. Ryan says they’re Adam’s, as he’s pretty sure he’s staying.
Before Eviction Fun Stuff: Adam says he had a nightmare last night, dreaming of getting his rental truck towed and not having any money. Ryan dreamt about a maze of dead horses and cows where he got lost. He never sees Jen in his dreams; he’s just always looking for her. Foretelling?
Before Eviction Mean Stuff: Adam and Ryan make fun of Sheila, talking about her legs, calling her a roller derby chick, vicious, and other things that are way worse. Just evict her for gosh sakes. You don’t have to sit there and trash her.
After Eviction Topic of the Night: Adam is really jonesing for a cigarette, and he lets out that the whole “I was robbed of my secret stash of cigs” thing was a lie he was hoping BB would fall for. He was hoping they would get him more, believing someone stole them from him. He even tries bugging the people working behind the scenes for a smoke. Eventually he even begs Allison Grodner for smokes.
After Eviction Past Strategy Talk: Ryan asks Adam if he had won the final HoH if he really would have evicted Sheila. Adam swears to God he would have, saying he had a speech planned and everything. Adam knew Sheila had him beat when she started going over the jury members, counting. Yet, Ryan thinks she didn’t deserve to be there. Now how can that be after you guys just admitted she would have won with the jury?
After Eviction Mean Stuff: Despite the fact Sheila is gone, the guys can’t lay off her, and they really go on the attack, to the point where they are crude, rude, disgusting, and mean. They start out realizing the cleaning isn’t going to get done without Shebot/Cleangot, go into how much she sucked at comps, laugh at her campaigning to stay, and get into her disabled son and raunchy jokes about her that just aren’t funny. Ryan even laughs about scaring her when they were chained together. Sheila would never do that to either one of them if they had left, and it’s so going to hurt her feelings when she reads this after the show.
Ryan mentions Jen calling him and saying she would be on the show and says it almost destroyed their relationship, as he didn’t want to come there to have people ridicule him. BB loved her and said she was perfect for the show, and Ryan thinks she got on a power trip after that and became someone he couldn’t stand. Adam says he liked her, and Ryan tells him he was the only one who didn’t give him crap for banging Jen. I’m sure she’ll love hearing all this. Is it possible they think they’re not on live feeds anymore?
These two charmers go on to trash Chelsia, Matt, Sharon, and James, yet are sure to still call Matt their boy. Ryan adds if they vote against him, fuck them, as they’re haters.
After Eviction Delusion: Ryan actually thinks that Julie Chen has a crush on him. Honestly, this boy should never drink champagne again. He also makes some crude comments about Danielle Donato, and I’m thinking Evel Dick could have a think or two to say about it.
Quote of the day: “Never trust a stripper, let alone a fucking Penthouse Pet of the Year.” — Adam (charming, isn’t he?)
“I came on here without a pink mohawk, and I’m a standup guy. I played.” — Ryan
“Someday I can tell my kids Mommy lasted fourteen days, and Daddy lasted eighty-one.” — Ryan.
My Thoughts: My thoughts on this cast have covered the gamut. I wasn’t too thrilled with them at first, then I really began to like James and Chelsia, because they were fun more than anything else, then she just got too fricking weird, but I always admired his spunk. Then I got bored again, but really found it interesting the past week. With just these two a-holes uncaring jerks left, I’m finding myself bored again. BB10 starts when?

Big Brother 9 Live Feeds, April 22nd – Sheila’s Last Stand
Before the Competition: Adam is pumped today, and he’s wearing a pair of pants that he’s been saving for a “special day.” They’re from his father, and they seem to have been made circa 1970. Sheila finally gets her strawberry waffles from Adam too, so it’s a good morning for everyone.
BB is calling them in one by one to record their final goodbye messages. Adam and Sheila have a quick little chat, and Sheila says she can’t believe that Adam convinced Ryan that they should keep her. Adam replies that he told her she could trust him. They ponder the fact that most of the other couples in the house ended up turning on their partners.
Bros to the End: Sheila seems to know that the boys are planning to go to the end together. She throws out the occasional line about how she’ll be the last one leaving to go to the jury, etc. Adam promises Ryan that it’ll be the two of them in the final two, but Ryan still seems a little nervous in placing his trust in Adam. Adam says that he made a “scumbag move” in throwing the first part of the HoH comp to Ryan, but says it had to be done. He’s obviously feeling some guilt in not sticking with Sheila.
On the other hand though, he does tell Sheila that he’s messing with Ryan and telling him whatever he needs to hear, but she doesn’t have to worry because he will take her to the end if he wins the final HoH comp.
HoH Comp Part Deux: As Laura reported yesterday, Adam won part two, so he and Ryan will go head to head on Wednesday night during the live show. The competition was timed, and apparently Sheila took over 33 minutes to finish it. Adam’s time was considerably lower. There was a hamster wheel involved in the comp, and Sheila complains that she would have done better but she got dizzy. You can make your own joke to insert here if you wish.
After Comp Strategy: Ryan gets called to the DR, and Sheila tells Adam that she knows Ryan won’t take her to the end, so Adam has to win the HoH. He promises that he’ll try his best, and that he’d evict Ryan if he won. But then he asks Sheila to campaign for him with the jury if Ryan ends up winning it. She promises that she will, although she’ll only have a day to work on them. Adam warns her that, if it’s the two of them together at the end, he might win the game. She doesn’t care – she’d be happy with $50,000.
Ryan and Adam cement their deal, and Adam promises to start throwing the final comp right from the first question. Ryan doesn’t think he’d win the game anyway, so he’s fine with getting the “blood on his hands” (which has become almost as common a phrase as “under the bus” in the house) in evicting Sheila.
Ryan tells Adam that he trusts him completely now, because he followed through with his word in throwing the first part of the comp and then beating Sheila in the second. Regardless, Ryan asks Adam several times during the day if he’s sure that he’ll take Ryan if he wins on Wednesday night.
Sheila tries to work on Adam to get him to take her to the final two. He takes her to the memory wall and shows her all of the votes she would have from the jury, and says that he came here to win half a million dollars to do good work for kids with autism. He says that he can beat Ryan, so it would make more sense to him to take him to the end. Sheila is upset by this and tries to throw out the 46-year-old single mom thing, saying that Ryan has another 20 years to make that kind of money. Ugh. I want Sheila to get to the end, but this stuff is pure crap. They argue over this for a few minutes.
Sheila goes to Ryan and tells him that she knows the boys are planning to stick together. Ryan admits it, and says that he really feels Adam deserves to be there – not that she doesn’t, of course. But he’s worked with Adam all along and feels good about the two of them getting to the end together.
Sheila goes back to Adam and tells him that she doesn’t want to look like a beggar, and doesn’t need his charity. She just wanted to plead her case, because she really wants the two of them at the end. Adam says it’s okay, he knows, and that he wasn’t telling her that he had made up his mind, he was just trying to explain to her that he’s trying to make this decision and how huge it is. Sheila mentions that she’s the campaign queen, and will have time to work the jury. Adam wonders if that’s a threat, but she says it’s not. It gets a little heated, and then Sheila is called to the DR.
Ryan tells Adam that this is exactly what he was afraid of, and why he really wanted to keep Sharon. He knew that Sheila would try to make Adam feel guilty and get him to keep her. Adam says that it’s fine, he’s going to throw the comp for sure so that he doesn’t have to make that decision.
When Sheila comes out, she tells Adam she was playing things up for Ryan. He’s not buying it, but doesn’t say much. Sheila is trying to work the partner angle, saying there would be no question for her – she would pick Adam if the choice were hers to make. Adam cries a little, saying that both she and Ryan were there for him throughout the game, and he feels a bond with both of them. Sheila says that they can’t predict how the votes will go, and that Adam would probably beat her in the end.
Sheila Breaks Down Again: After the arguing and discussions with Adam and Ryan, Sheila goes to her room and cries. A lot. She’s saying that she wants to go home, and begging BB for Tylenol PM. I see a future in Tylenol commercials for her. She sobs for a while, before falling asleep.
Tallying the Votes: Adam and Ryan try to figure out how the jury votes will play out. I’m not sure I’m following their logic, because they end up thinking that Matt will be the tie-breaking vote. I’m pretty sure Ryan’s only vote would come from Sharon, but I’ve been very wrong about these things before.
Fun Stuff: Sheila actually forgets to feed the BEEBEES, so Adam ends up giving them some strawberries. He thinks they might be scared of his pants. I think they might be scared of him hollering BEEBEES in that voice of his. Either that or they know where his hands have been before chopping up the fruit.
After an outdoor lockdown, the hamsters return inside to find the table and floor marked with tape. They figure out the exact setup of the final competition, and for some reason we get flames. Because I guess, after nine seasons, we’re not supposed to know what the booths will look like.
Ryan thinks Sheila and Adam will make out tonight, because it might be their last night together in the house. Adam’s down for this, but Sheila does not co-sign. Go figure.
Ryan also thinks that he’ll be invited back to do All Stars. I have no idea why. Sheila thinks it would be Adam and James, and says she wouldn’t do it again because it’s too hard for her. She says that “older” women just don’t do BB, because of the raging menopausal hormones.
My Thoughts: Sheila has to lay off the 46-year-old single mom charity case act. No one deserves to win money on a reality show just because they need it, and if she wants to even have a chance at winning Adam over, she’s got to appeal to his ego and his competitive side.
We all know that the final part of the HoH comp is a crap shoot, because it’s hard to predict just how off-the-wall the questions to the jury members will be. Adam is planning to throw it, but what I would love to see is him accidentally winning it and then having to actually evict either Sheila or Ryan. This is, of course, the only remote chance Sheila has of getting to the end. And at this point I’d rather see her and Adam there than Ryan and Adam.

Big Brother 9, Live Feeds, April 22, 2nd Round of HoH
After no feeds for a few hours this afternoon, we come back and Adam is in the DR. He won the 2nd round, meaning it will be Ryan vs. Adam tomorrow during the Q&A round three. The comp involved some type of hamster wheel, which Sheila says made her dizzy. Adam finished it in 14 minutes, and Sheila finished in 33.
As she and Ryan sit around the mini table, Sheila tells him she feels good about where she is in the game. If she goes home tomorrow, that’s fine, as she’s gotten to final three and feels good. It makes her reflect back on living with her grandmother and her mother telling her she could do anything she wanted to. She also is talking about leaving the house as a different person (they always talk about that at this point), and says she has learned a lot from the people in the house, even those that were more than 20 years older than her like James and Josh.
Adam promises Sheila he’ll take her to final 2 if he wins it, but does make sure if he doesn’t, that she will campaign for him. She promises to have the jury at 7-0 in her favor. Once she leaves, Adam and Ryan confirm their deal from yesterday, saying no matter what, they have $550,000 between them. It certainly sounds like Adam is planning on going with Ryan. I think he’ll throw it to make sure he keeps the blood of his hands one last time.
Big Brother 9, Live Feeds, Elimination and 1st Round of HoH Comp
Before Eviction Topic: The HGs are just as confused as we are over what exactly is happening and when. They seem to think they are taping the show tonight to be shown on BB:AD, when in reality they taped the boring stuff from the morning, such as drying hair, picking out outfits, etc. Exciting! I’m sure the Showtime people were thrilled with it when they were waiting for a final four eviction and first round of final three comp. We were all wondering how much if any of the eviction and comp we would get to see and when the feeds would return, before the comp, after, tomorrow, after tomorrow’s show, after Wednesday’s show, etc.
Before Eviction Strategy Talks: Sharon asks Sheila what Ryan is going to do, but she obviously has no idea and says she hasn’t talked to him. She explains she let go of all that last night, realizing she had no control over it. Sharon is told by Sheila that she has a better chance than Sheila being kept by Adam.
After the HGs do a run-through of the evening, they got a glimpse of the endurance comp, something with water and hanging. A few hours after seeing it, Adam corners Ryan in the kitchen and says because of the comp, he thinks Sharon should go instead of Sheila. He explains she’s due, and looking at it, he knows she’s capable, where Sheila isn’t. He promises to Ryan that if he agrees to take out Sharon, after Sheila falls, Adam will fall, letting Ryan win the first round, giving him a 50% chance of final 2, and it will be Adam’s hands with Sharon’s blood, losing Team Pink’s jury votes for him.
Always one to consider side deals (Josh, James, Sharon …), Ryan agrees, telling Adam he needs to trust his gut. Adam wants Ryan to pretend to get pissed off at him for keeping Sheila so that Sharon will take that to the jury house with her, helping Ryan. When Ryan goes into the bathroom, Adam pumps his fist in the air, seemingly really excited. I was hoping he’d find a way to keep Sheila, and hoping that he would remain true to her. The fist pump sure makes it seem like he was trying to find a way to work it his way, and that he wasn’t just concerned over the comp.
Before Eviction Quotes: “I’m a pro at packing now!” — Sharon, as Ryan adds he doesn’t miss it, being he used to do it every other week as well.
“I can’t take another story. Help me!” — Sheila, walking in the bathroom after Sharon launched into a story about a friend.
Before Eviction Fun Stuff: Sheila tells a story that her son won a costume contest when he was little, but the judges thought he was dressed as a bird, when she had really dressed him up like Kenny from South Park.
Looking to date Baller? Ryan thinks his age requirements in a potential date include the range 18-97, but Adam jokes only a driver’s license is required.
Before Eviction Ominous Moment: Sharon is in the boat room with Sheila and puts her shoes on the bed. Sheila tells her it’s bad luck to have shoes on the bed, and mentions Natalie did it as well.
Eviction and Comp: After four hours of trivia on the feeds, us feedwatchers weren’t sure when we’d get them back. With fears they’d be gone until late Tuesday or Wednesday, we were excited to get them back four hours later, but let me tell ya, they were a long four hours. We see Sheila right away and hear her talking to “you guys,” so we know that Sharon was indeed voted out.
The comp did indeed involve water, and it had something to do with boogie boards. Sheila fell off pretty quickly, and Adam came down as promised, giving Ryan the win for round one of the final HoH. This leaves Adam and Sheila to face off against each other in part two.
The guys think Sheila did the right thing a few weeks back getting rid of Natalie, saying they’d rather be with Sheila right now. Sheila tells them Natalie would have kicked their asses in the comp, which Ryan doubts, but Sheila explains Natalie was on that disco ball for five hours.
Ryan thinks with him and Adam in final 2, the vote will be 4-3 and the deciding vote will be Matt. Adam will have the “campaign queen” on his side, Ryan thinks, but Adam explains she’ll only be there for one day to get it done. Adam tells Ryan he’s his best chance to win, not Big Sheila.
After Eviction Past Strategy Talk: Ryan says Alex was stupid to not campaign, and Sheila defends him. This goes in to them saying the whole Sexy 6 alliance was stupid, as they talk of how jealous Alex was of Parker, and how he nominated him, even though he was from his own alliance. They also think it was stupid for Matt and Natalie not to use the PoV on Parker and Jen.
After Eviction Fun Stuff: After locking the HGs up inside the past two days and in the boat room through a good hunk of this day, BB is apparently taking pity on them, leaving them with a craft. Sheila makes a bracelet for her son, Ryan makes one for Jen, and Adam makes one for his mom. Sheila figures that’s why he puts up with her, because she reminds him of his mom, but he says his mom is worse than Sheila. He thinks his mom would tell Sheila to give him a good smack. Ryan gets tired of making his bracelet for Jen and jokes about making one for Cameron Diaz.
Sheila explains her behavior the past few days, saying she has Pre-Menstrual Dysphoric Disorder and can’t take hormones because of a family history of breast cancer. She explains this is why older women don’t get this far on BB normally as they can’t handle the stress along with menopause. She even apologizes to Adam for treating him so badly. Well, then I better get my ass in gear and get on the show pretty soon.
Quote of the day: “I kept your dream alive, Sheila … for both of us.” — Adam, hugging Sheila after the elimination and comp.
My Thoughts: I’ll think I’ll be good with the outcome here, not matter how it turns out. Sheila doesn’t have much of a chance to make it to final 2, but that’s okay. I’d rather it be her and Adam in final 2, but Ryan and Adam would be good too. If Adam wins tonight, then wins again tomorrow, it’ll be hard for him to choose between Ryan and Sheila. If he throws the third comp, he’s pretty much guaranteed to go anyway, and he then doesn’t have to ever boot Sheila. This, from the man who doesn’t like blood on his hands.

Big Brother 9 Live Feeds, April 21st - And Your Final Three Are …
And here I thought they were going to flame or trivia the feeds (BB - the only place where “trivia” is a verb) until tomorrow night’s show to amp up the suspense, but we’re back after the eviction, and Sharon is gone.
From the frenzied whispering just before we went to trivia, I caught that Adam and Ryan got a glimpse of what the competition was going to be, and decided that Sharon had a good shot at winning it. Adam told Ryan that his gut was telling him to keep Sheila, because Sharon would be too dangerous. Ryan agreed.
The first part of the HoH competition was in the water, and I think they had to balance on boogie boards. Ryan won it, at any rate.
Right now, the final three are sitting at the mini-table making beaded bracelets. I guess BB decided that arts and crafts would settle the hamsters down for a while. Adam is actually really into it, believe it or not. And Ryan is half-heartedly trying to make something for Jen. What a lucky girl.
Part two of the final HoH comp will be sometime tomorrow. Stay tuned!
