Big Brother 9 Live Feeds, April 4th – Rehash, Veto, More Rehash

Posted on Sunday, April 6, 2008 in Big Brother

I’m going to try my best to make this recap interesting, but I’ll be honest. The hamsters are spinning their wheels lately and it’s like watching the same conversations over and over again. The mantra for this morning is, “One of us has to win the veto and take Sheila off the block, and then Adam had better nominate James or we’re coming after him next week.” Throw in a sprinkle of Natalie’s god-talk, a generous dose of “I’m a 45-year-old single mom,” and a couple of “BEEBEES!” and you’ve pretty much got the lead-up to the veto competition covered.

Sheila and Sharon come to the brilliant conclusion that if James wins the veto, one of them is going home. You think? Sheila tells Sharon that she’s sorry, but she knows that Natalie and Ryan will keep her in the game so it’ll be Sharon that leaves. Sharon gets called to the DR, and Natalie tells Sheila that if Sharon wins the veto, she’s going to pull a Marcelas and not take herself off the block in order to protect James. Nat adds that Sharon is confident that Sheila would be the one evicted, so she’s not afraid of staying on the block. Sheila thinks this is outrageous, and rants a bit about the situation.

Everyone except James and Adam thinks that the PoV comp with be both “huge” and “epic.” Since our dear Natalie didn’t know what “monumental” meant, I’m thinking she’s not altogether clear on “epic” either. Apparently the wakeup music this morning included a song called Girl Fight which I’ve never heard of, and the theme to Rocky. Heh.

Sheila and Natalie go over their theory that James took advantage of Adam’s kindness, and that Sharon is still The Mole. And just for shits and giggles, Sheila tells us all again that she deserves to win the money at the end because she’s 45 years old and the rest of them have their whole lives ahead of them to make that kind of money on their own. Blah blah. Natalie isn’t too worried about winning the game, because she thinks the exposure on TV will bring her opportunities afterwards. She’s planning on starting up a business with Adam after this is all over.

Natalie goes to feed the BEEBEES and talks to them just like Sharon does. Oh brother. Sharon is in her room reading the bible while James is on his bed staring at the walls. Sharon hears Natalie and rolls her eyes, and James tells her she’s been replaced. Hee.

Finally we get trivia, so the veto competition is on. When we return, Sheila is crying while Ryan and Natalie are dancing. Um, I’m confused. Oh wait, Sheila’s crying because she’s relieved. Ryan has won the veto, so no new record for consecutive veto wins for James. And now we get to listen to Natalie talking about god’s plan and how all of the evil doers will be gone from the house.

The comp had something to do with knowing which day things happened in the house. Sheila says she did terribly (shocker) and so did James. James looks a little bummed out, but he’s saying that it’s fine, that this is how he wanted to go out. Adam tells James that he loves him, and it looks like James isn’t gearing up for another sympathy speech to Adam any time soon. He sounds like he’s basically throwing in the towel.

Speaking of towels, the boys all have them, and Natalie and Sheila are drying their hair. So it looks like there was water involved in the comp as well.

James has gone back to his bed, while the rest of them eat and discuss the competition. Sheila jokes around with Ryan about what she’ll have to do to get him to use the veto and save her. Yuck. Ryan goes and asks James if he wants to play chess, which he does.

Adam, Natalie, and eventually Ryan convene in the sauna room, and Adam wants to know if they’re all good now that James will be going on the block and voted out. He really wants to make sure that the rest of his crew isn’t going to hold a grudge against him for not nominating James in the first place. Ryan says it’s fine, and that he’s going to use the same speech James gave earlier, about having to win competitions to stay in the game. Which is going to be really ironic since he’ll be using the veto to save Sheila.

Sheila tells Natalie and Adam that she really wants to win just one competition, and practically begs them to throw something to her if they can. No promises from anyone, of course. Sheila says that she’s forgiven Adam for nominating her and she can see now why he did it. Of course if James had won the veto, I don’t think she’d be as understanding. They wonder if James will try and convince Ryan not to use the veto, and Sheila and Natalie warn Adam that he’d better put James up when the veto is used.

Now we’re on to Chelsia-bashing, and I don’t have the stomach for this again. Let’s move on, shall we?

Natalie goes to the bathroom, and ends up on the couch with Ryan plucking his eyebrows for him. They discuss getting Sharon out next week, so that their plan to be the final four will finally be a reality. I’m almost hoping that Sharon wins HoH just to see the scrambling going on.

Adam and James are looking at the memory wall, and Adam is telling James that his hands are tied now, dude, and James has to go on the block. He says that he wishes he could nominate himself against Sheila, but sadly he can’t do that. Um, okay. He says there just isn’t any way that he could get away with keeping James safe this week. James seems to understand, even though he’s unhappy about the situation. He’s grateful that Adam even gave him a chance in the first place.

The guys are chatting, and James says that he’s actually looking forward to spending two weeks with Chelsia in the sequester house. He talks about what he’s going to do after the show – he plans to go back to bicycling and get another tattoo. He wanders off when Adam and Ryan start talking about the next couple of weeks in the game, and goes to tell Sharon that she’s next. She knows. Adam comes in and they discuss what they would tell future hamsters to do in the house. Stuff like sneaking in pills and booze, and telling everyone that you’re a single parent to get farther in the game. Hee.

And now James is telling everyone a story that Sharon apparently told him in confidence, about Jacob being so big that he actually “split” her during sex. And then Jacob went out and cheated on her, and she told his dad the whole story, including the fact that she tore. Sharon is mortified (or at least acting like she is) that James is spilling her secret, and bemoans the fact that America will now know too. I’m not sure America really cares, but there it is anyway.

James tells Sharon that only one person has to blog her secret (hi Sharon) and it’ll be all over the internet. She’s acting shocked. James says that he’s had sex during BB:AD, peed in the sink, and masturbated in the shower many times – it’s no big deal. Well, not to us James, but the people you live with may be a little put off.

Adam is a little worried that he only has five days’ worth of cigarettes left, and wonders why no one sent him more in his HoH basket. The backyard is open now after the PoV cleanup, so everyone heads outside. Adam is now calling Sharon “Splits” and she’s starting to get pretty pissed off about it. She tells James that she hates all of them, and he replies that they won’t talk to her after he leaves anyway. He’s bitter about being called “evil” and thinks BB is editing the show in such a away as to make him look like the bad guy. He’ll be pleasantly surprised that he’s getting the hero edit, I’m sure.

Now the entire group is outside talking about the early weeks of the game, who they liked, who they didn’t like, and who they thought was related to one another. Yes, this is where they go through the Sheila/Matt mother/son thing again. James says again that it really bothers him when Natalie calls him an evil doer and Chelsia a whore. He says that he never made fun of her about her abortions or anything (well, not to her face anyway), so she shouldn’t be talking smack about him. Then we’re on to Jen calling Ryan a racist, and James says he wouldn’t stay with a woman who would do that to him.

They talk about the endgame, and Sheila thinks that she’s been in a tough situation for the entire game, so the next couple of weeks won’t be any different. Adam laughs at her and tells her she hasn’t at all, she just thinks she has been. James thinks the game would have been different if they had played as singles right from the start. The others disagree and say that people would have been drawn to the same groups regardless. Really? Tell that to Alex and Allison.

Sheila and James chat in the hot tub, and Sheila says that it really bothered her that James was acting like he was an outcast, because she was thinking, “what if that were my son?” James says he’s ready to go, because when he really thinks about it, he doesn’t want to have that much money. It would just cause problems for him. Sheila’s yammering about Joshuah now and how he was so classy in apologizing for everything before he left.

Now they’re discussing All Stars and whether they’d come back for it or not. James says he would, and Sheila thinks Adam would as well. Sheila wouldn’t play the game again, but says she would love to come back and host a competition or something, like Evel Dick did for them.

Sharon and Ryan have a quick strategy talk inside. Ryan tells her that he would love to see Adam and Natalie go on the block next week, with Natalie being the one evicted. He thinks she’s tough in the physical competitions, and knows that there will be some coming up soon. Sharon says that it’s important for them to be on the same page, because she’s sure that there’s a double eviction coming up and they won’t have time to talk before making nominations. Smart girl. Sharon says that she’s going to start planting seeds with Sheila and Natalie that they should go after Adam because he betrayed them and didn’t nominate James this week. They agree that Ryan should veto Sheila instead of Sharon since it’ll be James going up anyway, and this way they won’t reveal their alliance.

It’s dinner time, and everyone sits down together to play happy families. Natalie is talking about how she wants to have lots of kids. She’s got some names picked out too. Job for a boy, and Araya Sunshine for a girl. No, I’m not kidding. Then they move on to whether or not Natalie actually gave Matt a blow job or not. She continues to deny, although she says that she does give really good ones and always swallows, but there has to be something in it for her afterwards. Oh really? And just what did you get from Matty? She adds that she swallows because it’s a good source of protein.

Adam and Ryan go outside and Adam wants Ryan to forgive him for not putting James on the block this week. He promises that once Ryan uses the veto, James will go up and they can get him out. Ryan says it’s fine, and he’s relieved that their biggest competition will finally be leaving.

There’s a lot of chatter going on about what each person is attracted to, past relationships, sex, and how they think they’re the liveliest group of hamsters ever to grace the BB house. Yawn. James has gone inside to bed, but he’s lying there awake probably thinking of ways to convince Ryan not to use the veto.

Sharon goes to bed too, and ends up telling James that she hasn’t sold a house since last October, and didn’t really know what she was going to do with her life. She applied to be on BB because she needed the three months away to figure things out, and was crushed when she saw Jacob outside the house. She really wanted to have the time away from him.

Natalie is telling Sheila that Matt lied to her about so many things, and they he was obviously playing the game for himself and not both of them. She says she plans to call him out when she sees him again and ask him a lot of questions about the things he said and did in the house.

Everyone but Adam is either sleeping or getting ready for bed now. Adam stay up to eat hot dogs and have a smoke outside. Then he heads upstairs to listen to music and read the bible for a while. James seems to have given up his late-night wanderings, at least for now. And with that, the day is wrapped.
