What’s Hot On TV Tonight - Ozzy and Sharon are Back!

The Osbournes are back, but not in the show you’re expecting them to be or the format. They’ve made it to network primetime TV, albeit in a variety show in Osbournes: Reloaded. I’m not too sure about a variety show, but either way, it won’t be boring. It follows the American Idol performance show, so it’s being given a huge chance. Ozzy and Sharon also appear on Regis and Kelly today promoting the show.
1. Oprah Winfrey. Michael J Fox and Dr. Oz are on the show today talking about Parkinson’s disease. It’ll be a hard watch, but I’ll do it. Syndicated, check local listings.
2. Regis and Kelly. Guests today are John Cena, as well as Ozzy and Sharon Osbourne, stars of Osbournes Reloaded that premieres after American Idol tonight. Syndicated, check local listings.
3. 88 Minutes. I really liked this psychological thriller with Al Pacino, but most other people really panned it. Watch if you dare, and see who you agree with. 10:05 AM Starz 1
Celebrity Apprentice - When Reality TV Is Uncomfortable

I don’t think the argument over unscripted TV and whether it’s spontaneous, scripted, or unscripted will ever be proved or solved, but occasionally the truth of it is so uncomfortable, that we know it’s real. That was the case last night watching Dennis Rodman on Celebrity Apprentice.
For weeks now everyone, and by everyone I mean everyone on the show as well as fans, has been saying Rodman needs to leave, as he doesn’t do anything and he has an explosive temper. I’ve been saying I have a different view of Rodman from watching him play for the Chicago Bulls for a few seasons. He always did what he wanted when he wanted and never for anyone else. He also has extreme behavior in some sort of quest for attention. But also, he had perhaps the kindest heart of anyone I’ve ever seen, yet he doesn’t allow it to be seen very often.
He had to be project manager this week, as it was time to put up or shut up. It was destined to be a train wreck, but it really didn’t show that badly. However, there were some definitely uncomfortable moments. When he just stalked off on the last day, we could see his unstableness, and it was almost like he left as even he knew he had become too unstable.
What’s Hot On TV Tonight - Absolutely No Reruns!

With basketball, March, and Madness nearly over, tonight is filled with not a single repeat to be found on any of the major networks. We continue to have more injuries, as well as kidnapping scares on Dancing With the Stars, so it’ll be interesting to see how tonight’s show pans out, as they’ll surely have ambulances and the FBI at the ready.
1. Regis and Kelly. Hugh Laurie will guest, as well as Michael Sarver, eliminated from American Idol last week. Syndicated, check local listings.
2. Must Love Dogs. A lonely couple meet up with each other through a computer dating site. It doesn’t have as much to do with dogs as it sounds, but is still a cute movie. 9:00 AM CT TBS
3. The Ellen DeGeneres Show. David Spade guests along with Cheryl Burke and Gilles Marini from Dancing With the Stars. 3:00 PM CT NBC
4. Perfect Stranger. Psychological thriller with Halle Berry out to prove Bruce Willis is a cold-blooded murderer. Note: Balki is nowhere to be found here. 6:10 PM CT Starz 2
What’s Hot On TV Tonight - It’s the Dennis Rodman Show!

Honestly, doesn’t it seem like that’s what Celebrity Apprentice is becoming? It’s all about him, why he doesn’t do anything, why no one accepts his help, his meltdowns, and his drinking. Think you can be a better apprentice than him? Here’s your chance. Enter the Chicken of the Sea Apprentice Challenge 2009. How would you market Chick of the Sea? Enter the contest and you can win a trip to the Celebrity Apprentice finale in May.
1. NBA Basketball: Mavericks at Cavaliers. The Mavericks won in their last meeting 100-81. Will this afternoon be a repeat? 12:00 PM CT ABC
2. NASCAR Racing: Spring Cup In Martinsville, VA. It’s the shortest track in NASCAR for The Goody’s Fast Pain Relief 500. Will Jeff Gordon still be leading in the standings after? 12:30 PM CT Fox
3. Liar Liar. It takes Jim Carrey to pull off the comedy of this role of a pathological liar who is stricken with always having to tell the truth because of a wish his son makes. 2:00 PM CT USA
4. Sex and the City. I hadn’t watched the series save for one or two times until the movie came out. I so much enjoyed the movie, I’ve now seen every episode of the series. 4:30 PM CT HBO East
American Idol - Will the Real Adam Lambert Please Stand Up

I go back and forth with my opinions of Adam Lambert. Sometimes I think I understand who he is, and sometimes I don’t think we’ll ever know who the real Adam really is. The more and more I see, I keep thinking it’ll clear it all up for me, but the more and more I become confused. I can’t just listen and enjoy. I have to “get” the performer. I have to know where they’re coming from.
I’ll admit, I was never jumping up and down and doing backflips when I first heard him, but I did enjoy his performances. I think he has a great voice, and yeah, we can all agree he’s easy on the eyes. I’ve been downloading his performances from iTunes (see the link in the sidebar on the right) since the beginning, starting with Satisfaction, then following it up with Black & White. Ring of Fire? No. That’s once I didn’t get.
And here’s where I started to form my opinion of Adam Lambert. After singing Satisfaction, we knew him as the rocker, but he’s a different type of rocker than Daughtry or David Cook. Some are calling him a glam rocker. Once he sang Ring of Fire, though, that persona seemed to take on a life of its own. Suddenly I didn’t see him as a rocker anymore, but an actor. He seemed to be playing a role. Like he was copying David Bowie or something. I even made a comment that he was beginning to seem like a poser.
What’s Hot On TV Tonight - Figure Skating and NCAA Basketball

What kind of sports fan are you? Tonight we have the championships of both figure skating and NCAA basketball. Something for everyone perhaps? In the afternoon you can enjoy a Robin Williams Film Fest, with the news he’s doing well after his heart surgery, and tonight if you’re not watching skating or hoops, and you’re not on spring break, you can enjoy the beach anyway on America’s Most Wanted.
1. Wendy Wu: Homecoming Warrior. What to do when you’re a high schooler and destined to save the world. Do you do that or become the homecoming queen? Hmm. 11:00 AM CT Disney
2. Mrs. Doubtfire. This is fun no matter how many times you’ve seen it. 1:00 PM CT WMax
3. NCAA Basketball Tournament: Regional Finals. Connecticut vs. Missouri and Pittsburgh vs. Villanova. 3:30 PM CT CBS
4. Jumanji. Why not just have a Robin Williams Film Fest today? Great fantasy adventure movie for kids. 2:30 PM CT ABC Family
What’s Hot On TV Tonight - March Madness Continues

The NCAA BAsketball Tournament continues, moving on to the regional semi-finals, tonight, and we have all the usual Friday night fare as well. I’m having my son watch tonight’s Everybody Hates Chris, thinking he can relate, since he just got his learner’s permit. Let’s hope he doesn’t relate to the subject on SuperNanny.
1. Get Shorty. Yet another movie of John Travolta’s where he shows he’s not just a leading man, but a great character actor, as I think he can play just about any role there is. He’s not one of those that gets stuck in the same role. 2:30 PM CT Bravo
2. The Ellen DeGeneres Show. Ellen’s guests are Reese Witherspoon and Bobby Flay of The Foot Network. Syndicated, check local listings.
3. Hot Fuzz. It’s kind of a strange, out there story, but if you like British humor, you’ll like this one. 3:55 PM CT HBO Comedy East.
American Idol - Performance Order Snaps at the Top 10

It’s the second week in a row of perplexing results on American Idol. Allison Iraheta has been burning up the stage, and Matt Giraud has been building in popularity after a great start. Since the final 13, Allison has been the only consistently good female, and Matt has been one of the top males. So how do those two both end up in the bottom three the past few weeks? Is it performance order?
Let’s examine the bottom three/four the past three weeks. The bottom four the first week of finals were Jasmine Murray, Anoop Desai, Jorge Nunez, and Megan Joy. They sang in the positions of fifth, eighth, ninth, and tenth, respectively. These folks couldn’t have been more mired in the middle, and the contestants in the fifth and ninth place went home.
The following week, we had a bottom three of Michael Sarver, Allison Iraheta, and Alexis Grace. They sang in the positions of first, second and seventh, it came down to the people in first and seventh, and the person in the seventh position went home. It seems the people that performed in the beginning were forgotten about, and then the person that was mired in the middle again went home.
What’s Hot On TV Tonight – In the Motherhood

Tonight we have a series premier about three mothers with very different parenting skill sets, starring Cheryl Hines and Megan Mullaly. Perhaps the most unique fact of the show is that it’s based on an internet series of the same name. These two actresses are always fun to watch, and together could be interesting. We also have American Idol results tonight, so it could be another night with the DVR put to full use.
1. Blades of Glory. Typical Will Ferrell, as he’s joined by Jon Heder. The two of them on skates is funny enough as it is, let alone seeing them skatimg together as a pair. 11:45 AM CB Cinemax East
2. The Ellen DeGeneres Show. Ellen’s guest today is Jennifer Hudson, as she gets ready to perform on American Idol later this season. I’m sure they’ll also discuss the horrible crime in Hudson’s family last year, as well as her recent engagement. Syndicated, check local listings.
3. NCAA BAsketball Tournament: Regional Semifinals. Connecticut vs. Purdue, Memphis vs. Missouri, Pittsburgh vs. Xavier, and Duke vs. Villanova. 6:00 PM CT CBS
4. Eight Below. Even more amazing than the beautiful scenery and amazing dogs in this movie is that it’s all true. 6:30 PM CT ABC Family
Dancing With the Stars - Shawn Johnson’s Scare

Now this is truly frightening. I can’t even imagine.
An armed man tried to break into the Dancing With the Stars set with a goal to meet Shawn Johnson. He jumped a fence at the CBS Studios lot, then was stopped by security. Later in his car, police found a loaded shotgun and handgun, along with duct tape and love letters. Police told Shawn’s mom that the man felt he was destined to have a child with Shawn.
According to the Palm Beach Post, a temporary restraining order was put in motion, and a more lengthy one will be requested at an April 14 hearing. Shawn’s dancing professional partner, Mark Ballas, is also being added to the application as seeking protection against the armed man.
Robert O’Ryan of Florida is being held on $35,000 bail for suspicion of carrying a loaded firearm in public, which is a felony. He had a concealed weapons permit on him, but it was expired. He told security he packed up all of his things in Florida and traveled to California with the thought that he would be with Shawn.
I can’t speak for Shawn or her parents, but I would be thinking they’d rather be facing a typical Dancing With the Stars sprained ankle or thrown back than this. This is truly scary, and something you hate to think of a 17-year-old going through, let alone an adult.
