Be a Talent Judge like Simon, Randy, and Ellen
After eight seasons of American Idol, I like to think I’m qualified to spot talent. Don’t we all feel a little entitled at this point, like we know just as much as Simon Cowell and Randy Jackson? Surely I know as much about spotting musical talent as the newest judge, Ellen DeGeneres. There’s a fantastic new site out there to let us continue our fun, outside of watching American Idol, the 1click2fame talent competition site.
We get to throw on our judging hats and judge performances that can ultimately award the performers some good cash. The site just had its first big money winner, and let me tell you, she’s good. 16-year-old Lucie Evans’ version of Gnarls Barkley’s Crazy is phenomenal. I would pay 99 cents to download that from iTunes.
I also waded through judging some talent that was not so good, but instead of cutting them down or calling them Dawg, I just hit the button for whether I liked it or not. If you don’t like it, the embedded music player moves you on to the next performer to cast another vote. If you do like it, it asks you whether you want to keep seeing more performers or whether you want to go to that performer’s page to read more about them and possibly see more performances. Most got a negative response from me, but I couldn’t resist giving a positive vote to the Scottish sock puppet singing about Facebook. I had to.
And if you want to increase your chances even more, move to Lancashire in the UK. They have a ratio of 1:29,348. One in nearly every 30,000 can make it as big as Noel and Liam Gallagher, Morrissey or Jay K. Or, if that doesn’t suit you, move to Merseyside where John Lennon, Paul McCartney and Frankie Goes to Hollywood hail from. You’ll take your chances moving to Wiltshire, as that ratio is only 1:122,400.
It would be interesting to see the same figures here in the U.S., wouldn’t it? We do know that Birmingham, Alabama has produced a glut of American Idols, such as Ruben Studdard, Bo Bice, and Taylor Hicks. I wonder if there are just as many non-Idol superstars that hail from there.
Either way, if I was aching to be a superstar, I’d be moving to Lancashire, as I like my odds. And if I wanted to better my chances even more, I’d check into that 1click2fame talent competition site.
that is some amazing talent. glad you impress a lot of new people
