What’s Hot On TV Tonight – President Obama Addresses the Nation

15803_barack-obama.jpgPresident Obama will address the nation to discuss his plans for Afghanistan, which includes sending more troops, yet also an exit plan. Interestingly enough, Fox is deciding to air it, which they don’t always do. Yet, instead of shortening tonight’s So You Think You Can Dance by thirty minutes, they’re extending it by a half hour, and going past their normal two hour allotment for primetime.

1. Oprah Winfrey. Discussing the struggle for gender equity around the world with Oprah is George Clooney, Ben Affleck, Demi Moore, and Secretary of State Hillary Clinton. Also joining the discussion will be NY Times columnist Nicholas Kristof and his wife, Sheryl WuDunn, authors of the book Half the Sky which talks about this very thing. 3. Cadillac Records. A fascinating true story surrounding Chess Rrecords and its founder and his impressive stable of artists, Etta James, Chuck Berry, Muddy Water, Howlin’ Wolf, and Willie Dixon. Adrien Brody, Beyonce, Mos Def, Jeffrey Wright, Eamonn Walker, and Cedric the Entertainier costar. 2:15 PM CT Starz

4. Ellen DeGeneres Show. Today’s guests are Adam Lambert, Marisa Miller, and voted-out So You Think You Can Dance contestants, Karen Hauer and Victor Smalley. Syndicated, check local listings.

5. Presidential Address to the Nation. President Obama will discuss his strategy to “finish the job” in Afghanistan which includes sending more troops as well as an exit plan. 7:00 PM CT Will be covered on CBS, NBC, ABC, Fox, and most news channels as well.

6. 90210. Liam and Dixon decide to tell Naomi the truth about her sister at the horse races, Silver and Teddy connect over a shared loss, and after Adrianna visits Navid in the hospital, she decides to quit drugs. Although Annie is grounded, she sneaks out with Jasper.  7:00 PM CT CW

7. A Christmas Carol. Kelsey Grammer, Jason Alexander, Jennifer Love Hewitt, Jane Krakowski, and Geraldin Chapin star in this 2004 version of the classic. 7:00 PM CT Hallmark

8. The Santa Clause 3: The Escape Clause. Martin Short gets added to the second sequel of the Tim Allen holiday movie, where he plays Jack Frost. 7:00 PM CT ABC Family

9. So You Think You Can Dance. The top 10 dancers perform. 7:30 PM CT Fox

10. Biggest Loser. They started this season running a mile, and will end running a full marathon as their challenge. Coming back to offer support are Helen Phillips, Tara Costa, and Mike Morelli from last season. The weigh-in tonight will determind the first two finalists, and we’ll vote on who the third will be going into next week’s finale. 8:00 PM CT NBC

11. Scrubs. In the first half hour of the season premiere, J.D., Turk, Cox, Kelso, and Denise mentor a crop of new medical students, and in the second half hour, J.D., Turk, and Kelso try to get Denise and Drew together. Lucy struggles with some of her duties. 8:00 PM CT ABC

12. Melrose Place. Amanda moves into Sydney’s penthouse and is immediately attracted to David, yet he’s getting closer to Lauren. Ella helps Jonah get a new job, and Amanda and Michael reunite.  8:00 PM CT CW

13. Scare Tactics. A doctor’s assistant is terrorized, a maid comes across a chainsaw-wielding maniac, an office employee comes across two men that match the descrption of a wanted man, and a prank involving an abandoned school bus. 8:00 PM CT Syfy

14. The Best Thing I Ever Ate. Food Network chefs Alton Brown, Alex Guarnaschelli, Tyler Florence, Aarón Sánchez, Claire Robinson, and Duff Goldman along with chef and cookbook author Art Smith share the stories behind their favorite holiday foods, including raisin-studded panettone, smoky southern barbecue, and perfectly crisp Peking duck. 8:00 PM CT Food Network

15. Victoria’s Secret Fashion Show. Heidi Klum hosts this look at the latest lingerie, with the Black Eyed Peas performing. 9:00 PM CT CBS

16. The Forgotten. A body removed from the trunk of a car after having been in there for four months has the DNA of an ex-convict who died four years ago. The investigation follows the world of underground gaming. James Van Der Beek guest stars. 9:00 PM CT ABC

17. Sons of Anarchy. It’s the season finale as SAMCRO tries to eliminate Ethan Zobelle and the others for the last time. 9:00 PM CT FX

18. Tabatha’s Salon Takeover. Tabatha tries to help a California hair salon that is losing business by helping the owner learn to focus. 9:00 PM CT Bravo

19. Little Couple. Jen goes from NYC to Boston for SIM Center training, and Bill is her traveling partner. 9:00 PM CT TLC

20. Sherri. In the first season finale, Sherri is deciding between her ex-husband and new boyfriend, and Celia and Angie have different ideas on who she should pick. Bart wants to pamper Summer with a makeover. 9:00 PM CT Lifetime

21. Bad Girls Club. In the saeson opener, we meet seven new bad girls, all staying in a luxury LA mansion. 9:00 PM CT Oxygen

22. Secret Lives of Women. Domestic abuse against men is the focus. 9:00 PM CT WE

23. The Hills. In the season finale, Justin wants to take his relationship with Kristin further, but she still has trust issues. Spencer confronts Heidi about being sneaky. 9:00 PM CT MTV

24. Where the Water Meets the Sky. Documentary telling the story of a group of Northern Zambian women who learn how to use the art of filmmaking as a way to speak out about their lives and the plight of the staggering number of young women orphaned by AIDS in their country. Narrated by Morgan Freeman, written by Jordan Roberts, and directed by David Eberts. 9:00 PM CT Sundance
