What’s Hot On TV Tonight – Elvis Costello Builds a Band

Call it an early Christmas present, but on Spactacle tonight, Elvis Costello builds a band right there and then with these names, Nick Lowe, Allen Toussaint, Richard Thompson, and. Levon Helm. That’s something for everyone’s music list. And if you’re looking for something special for the holidays, Emeril Lagasse gives you five hours of Christmas specials.

1. The TV Set. I expect this movie about a screenwriter who follows a movie all the way through from writing it to casting, to directing, etc. I have a feeling it causes screenwriters all over to nod their heads in recognition. 7. How the Grinch Stole Christmas. Nothing fails to put me in the Christmas mood like the carton version of this story. There’s just something about all those little Whos standing in a circle holding hands around the Christmas tree singing “Welcome Christmas” that gets to me every time.  7:00 PM CT ABC

8. Poinsettia Bowl: California vs. Utah. Injuries plague both sides in this match. 7:00 PM CT ESPN

9. Dog the Bounty Hunter. It’s a holiday episode as Dog, Beth, an the team get together to reminisce about their favorite moments on the show. 8:00 P M CT A&E

11. Jay Leno Show. Tonight Jay features Christmas cards from the Dan Band. 9:00 PM CT NBC

12. Tyler Perry’s House of Payne.
