What’s Hot On TV Tonight – Don’t You Forget About Me

I have to admit that John Hughes is quite possibly my favorite filmmaker of all time, and I probably would have said that before his untimely death as well. His movies have always had an impact on me, probably because I was a young adult when the majority of them were coming out, but also because he just had a way of tapping into the psyche of young people. Tonight One Tree Hill pays a very deserved homage to him in an episode entitled “Don’t You Forget About Me.”

1. Oprah Winfrey. The subject is the new show, Undercover Boss, which has executives working undercover in their own companies. Executives from Waste Management and 7-11 appear. Syndicated, check local listings.

2. Bye Bye, Love. Three divorced dads try to manage it with their exes, new girlfriends, and kids. 11:50 AM CT Starz Comedy

4. Twilight. Somehow my teenage daughter has remained unaffected by this phenomenon of a teenage vampire movie. Millions of other young girls have not. 2:00 PM CT Showtime Beyond

6. Skating & Gymnastics Spectacular. With the world stage preparing for the start of the 2010 Winter Olympics less than two weeks away, the best of both Olympic worlds are set to collide with Olympic Champions Peggy Fleming. Bart Conner, and Nadia Comaneci hosting. Ashley Tisdale and her band will perform as past Winter Olympians and contenders, including Elvis Stojko, Todd Eldredge and Emily Hughes join top gymnasts including Shawn Johnson, Nastia Liukin and others. 5:00 PM CT Hallmark

7. How I Met Your Mother. Barney issues a challenge to himself to sleep with seven women in a week. Jim Nantz and Nick Swisher have cameos. 7:00 PM CT CBS

8. Chuck. Chuck has to train a new Buy More employee, while his spy work entails handling a scientist who’s messed up with a nefarious organization. Awesome has to lie to Ellie for Chuck; and Morgan, Jeff, and Lester snoop into the new employees background. 7:00 PM CT NBC

9. The Bachelor: On the Wings of Love. Jake and the final five head to San Francisco to visit Chinatown, Coit Tower, Golden Gate Park, and the California Academy of Sciences. They also visit a Napa Valley castle. Four ladies will move on to at-home dates next week. 7:00 PM CT ABC

10. One Tree Hill. It’s an homage to my favorite moviemaker, John Hughes, as Haley’s loved ones forget her birthday, Jamie is left home alone, and Nathan and Clay get stranded. Julian remembers back to his teen years as a dork as he watches Brooke and Alexander go to a dance. Cheap Trick makes an appearance as well. 7:00 PM CT CW
