What’s Hot On TV Tonight – Ellen On American Idol

This is pretty much what we were waiting for. Sure the auditions were great, but they dragged on. We wanted to see Ellen DeGeneres on American Idol. And then we heard her and Simon weren’t getting along, but is it in the same way he and Paula Abdul didn’t get along, meaning it was all with a wink wink? We’ll get a chance to see tonight for the first time. Regrettably, it’s only an hour, when usually the first night of Hollywood is two hours. Perhpas their aim this year is to always leave us wanting more.

1. Oprah Winfrey. Lisa Ling goes to Tokyo to interview an Australian-born anthropologist who is also a geisha. To show the opposite side, she heads to a Michigan abbey to find out why young women opt to become nuns. Syndicated, check local listings.

2. Never Been Kissed. Drew Barrymore stars a s newspaper reporter who poses as a high schooler in an investigation, giving her a chance to do it all over again. I can’t decide whether I would revisit that time in my life or not. 11:00 AM CT AMC

3. National Lampoon’s Vacation. The original; the best. Lots of Vacation movies succeeded this one, but this is the original. Chevy Chase and Beverly d’Angelo did it up good this time. Everything from Aunt Edna to “My daddy says I’m the best” to “Sorry folks. Park’s closed. Moose out front shoulda told ya.” 1:00 PM CT Comedy Central

9. Venom In Vegas. It could be something totally different with that name, but it’s on Animal Planet, so it’s a venom expert spending ten days on the Strip in Las Vegas inside a glass enclosure with deadly snakes. 7:00 PM CT Animal Planet.

10. Behind the Music. Lil Wayne’s life is dissected tonight. 7:00 PM CT MTV3

11. Savile Row. Part 2 of 3 of Savile Row tailors traveling to Florence fore a fashion expo. 7:00 PM CT Sundance Channel

12. NCIS: Los Angeles. Three armed criminals rob a bank and take hostsages, and Kensi gets shot. 8:00 PM CT CBS

13. Lost. Kate’s on the r un and Jack has to do something that might jeopardize a friend.  8:00 PM CT ABC

14. Past Life. Series premiere of a psychologist and NYPD detective helping people who are haunted by plast-life events. Tonight, they help a teenager who remembers an abduction/murder from before he was born. 8:00 PM CT Fox

15. Larry King Live. Larry’s guest tonight is First Lady Michelle Obama. 8:00 PM CT A&E

16. RuPaul’s Drag Race. Burlesque star Dita Von Teese and Kim Coles help judge as the contestants take part in a burlesque competition. 8:00 PM CT VH1

17. The Good Wife. Alicia defends a man who stands accused of murdering the babysitter. Everyone waits the outcome of Peter’s appeal, as it could mean he gets released. 9:00 PM CT CBS

21. White Collar. The guys try to caputure a woman who is stealing from an extremely valuable collection. If news of this leaks before she is caught, it could lead to an international incident.  8:00 PM CT USA

23. Millionaire Matchmaker. Hollywood Director Rupert Wainwright is 48-years-old, a Rhodes Scholar from Oxford, England, and wants Stanger to help him find a great gal to share his life with. Yet, he’s an ageist, telling Stanger that his ideal woman would never be older than 29. Smike Wallen is 41, handsome, rugged, smart, sensitive and gay! Stanger immediately sees his one downfall, though – Wallen travels so much he has not been able to set down roots, preventing any real long-term relationship from developing.
