What’s Hot On TV Tonight – Ellen On American Idol
This is pretty much what we were waiting for. Sure the auditions were great, but they dragged on. We wanted to see Ellen DeGeneres on American Idol. And then we heard her and Simon weren’t getting along, but is it in the same way he and Paula Abdul didn’t get along, meaning it was all with a wink wink? We’ll get a chance to see tonight for the first time. Regrettably, it’s only an hour, when usually the first night of Hollywood is two hours. Perhpas their aim this year is to always leave us wanting more.
1. Oprah Winfrey. Lisa Ling goes to Tokyo to interview an Australian-born anthropologist who is also a geisha. To show the opposite side, she heads to a Michigan abbey to find out why young women opt to become nuns. Syndicated, check local listings.
2. Never Been Kissed. Drew Barrymore stars a s newspaper reporter who poses as a high schooler in an investigation, giving her a chance to do it all over again. I can’t decide whether I would revisit that time in my life or not. 11:00 AM CT AMC
3. National Lampoon’s Vacation. The original; the best. Lots of Vacation movies succeeded this one, but this is the original. Chevy Chase and Beverly d’Angelo did it up good this time.
