Joanna Krupa, After Dancing With the Stars, an Angel for PETA
It’s been one week since the end of Dancing With the Stars, and two weeks after Joanna Krupa was kicked off. So how has she been keeping herself busy? Well, she’s taking part in a PETA campaign and wants to encourage people to never buy puppies and kittens, only adopt. This is mostly in reference to puppy mills and their horrible conditions.
So how is Krupa promoting that? With an ad for PETA that says, “Be an Angel for Animals. Always Adopt. Never Buy.” That’s certainly a nice thought, and we all agree to that one. And to coincide with her usual campaign of “rather go naked than wear fur,” Krupa is naked, dressed as an angel with wings and a halo, and has a cross strategically placed across her middle and breasts. What’s Hot On TV Tonight - American Idol Winner Crowned!

No matter how the American Idol contest ends up tonight, it’ll be a terrific season with a deserving winner. Adam Lambert has been stunning since the get go, and Kris Allen has found his way, starting with no early exposure on the show, and doubting that he belonged, and now being in the final 2 and told he by Simon he 100% deserves to be there. They’re both deserving of the title, even though we all have our favorites. Looking at the pic to the left, have you ever seen a better-looking final 2? Don’t forget Ryan Seacrest’s warning to set your VCR or DVR longer, as they do expect the show to go over.
1. Regis and Kelly. Ricky Gervais guests, as well as the surprising winners of Dancing With the Stars, Shawn Johnson and Mark Ballas. Syndicated, check local listings.
2. 27 Dresses. Katherine Heigl follows up her success in Knocked Up, this time living out the adage “Always a bridesmaid, never a bride.” 12:00 PM CT HBO2 West.
3. Charlie’s Angels. Drew Barrymore, Cameron Diaz, and Lucy Liu copy the roles created in the 70s TV show. It’s more different than the same, other than in basic storyline, but it’s still a good time. 1:00 PM CT HBO Signature East.
4. Rachael Ray. TV chefs Bobbly flay, Rocco DiSpirito, and Adam Perry Lang help with some summer entertaining tips, as well as a fried chicken recipe. I’m guessing Rocco didn’t share that recipe with the folks on The Biggest Loser when he made a guest appearance. 2:00 PM CT CBS
What’s Hot On TV Tonight - Adam or Kris, We Decide!

It’s solely up to us now, but those judges on American Idol might try to sway us one way or another. This is the most I’ve looked forward to a season finale of this show in awhile. Adam Lambert was running away with the win in the first few weeks of the season, but the unassuming Kris Allen crept up there, slowly, growing his fanbase and increasing in confidence. By last week’s performance of Heartless last week, he had arrived. How will the public decide tonight?
1. Regis and Kelly. Guests are Ben Stiller promoting his film Night at the Museum: Battle of the Smithsonian, and Jesse James premiering his new show Jesse James Is a Dead Man. Syndicated, check local listings.
2. Kindergarten Cop. This is of course before he became the governor of California, yet it’s still amusing to watch Arnold Schwarzenegger playing with a roomful of Kindergartners.9:40 AM Starz Comedy
3. Night at the Museum. Surprisingly good film about the crazy things that go on in a museum once everyone but the night watchman (Ben Stiller) go home. Everything back in history comes alive. Catch this now before the sequel comes out this weekend. 6:30 PM CT FX
4. NCIS. The season ender has the team traveling to Israel as Ziva has an uncomfortable reunion with her father, Tony confronts Rivkin, and Gibbs decides something that will reverberates throughout the NCIS 7:00 PM CT CBS
What’s Hot On TV Tonight - Jillian Becomes the New Bachelorette!

Jillian Harris, who would have been Jason Mesnick’s most famous reject, had he not chosen Melissa Rycroft, proposed, be totally happy, then drop her, and pick up Molly Malaney for a try (see the rundown of this as well as Jen Schefft’s big news), gets a try a not just 25, butt 30 men. They picked her for this way before Melissa was dropped, otherwise I’m sure she would have been chosen for this. Not that her consolation prize of getting to the final three on Dancing With the Stars was all too shabby.
1. Regis and Kelly. Guests include Simon Baker and the winner of Survivor, JT Thomas. Syndicated, check local listings.
2. Juno. There’s something really enticing about this as it’s how teenagers reallly are. It’s so … real. Starring Ellen Page and Michael Cera, and written by Diablo Cody, it was up for numerous Oscars, and won one for Cody with her very first screenplay. 9:30 AM CT MoMax East
3. Martian Child. For every kid who has ever felt lonely and like he didn’t fit in, here’s a boy that feels that so deeply, he either pretends or figures he must be from another planet. Read more in my review at Film Monthly. 1:20 PM CT WMax
4. The Ellen DeGeneres Show. Jaime Foxx is on talking about his experience with the American Idols. Also guesting are Marisa Miller and piano prodigy Umi Garrett. Syndicated check local listings.
What’s Hot On TV Tonight - Who’s Going to Lose … the Most?

Tonight we’ll find out who the Biggest Loser is, and in the world of weight loss on NBC, that means we’ll find out who the winner of the show is. We know Helen and Tara will be in the final, and we need to find out whether we voted in Ron or his son, Mike. I’m expecting it to be Mike and hope it is. With the weight that he started with, I think he has a good shot at winning if he continued to lose big. I think Helen is out before she starts, simply because she doesn’t have that much more to go. Either way to see these people again and looking and feeling so good is going to be fantastic. I also can’t wait to see Kristen. In Laura’s perfect reality world, Kristen would win the at home prize and Mike the big prize.
1. Regis and Kelly. Guests are Tom Hanks, as well as Tammy and Victor, the winners of The Amazing Race. Syndicated, check local listings.
2. The Bad News Bears. It’s the original with remake with Billy Bob Thornton. It’s good, but to me you just can’t beat the original with Walter Matthau. Clint Fletcher dissects it at Film Monthly. 12:00 PM CT TBS
3. Rachael Ray. Kate Gosselin of Jon & Kate Plus 8 is Rachael’s guest. Syndicated, check local listings.
4. Jerry Maguire. Cruise really loves Renee Zellweger, yet doesn’t feel the need to jump on a couch to get her at hello. 1:10 PM CT Encore Love
What’s Hot On TV Tonight - Still In Shock

I think I’m still in shock after Lil Kim and Derek Hough were surprisingly eliminated last week on Dancing With the Stars. I thought she was great, and I would have loved to see her win. However, I have to admit I’m happy for Ty Murray and Chelsie Hightower as they have worked so hard. I really can’t see them lasting past this week, barring a miracle, yet that’s what we all said last week. I also want to work in a thank you to my son for the wonderful gift of filling in for me in this space and giving me a day off yesterday. I had an ear-to-ear smile the whole time reading it.
1. Oprah Winfrey. Simon Cowell guests as well as Britain’s Got Talent early standout Susan Boyle. I’m guessing Oprah will work in a few questions about this year’s American Idol as well. Syndicated, check local listings.
2. Regis and Kelly. Eric Bana guests, and the show starts “Winners Week” featuring winners of reality shows, as oddly Allison Iraheta appears (although most of us will say that girl is a winner no matter where she placed!) and the focus will be on Celebrity Apprentice. Does that mean Joan Rivers will be on? Syndicated, check local listings.
3. Once. This is probably the most unique love story I’ve ever seen. Interestingly, the two stars of the show, Glen hansard and Marketa Irglova, have just broken up in real life. This is one of my favorite movies ever, but Josh Staman of Film Monthly disagrees … I think. 12:00 PM CT HBO Signature East
4. The Ellen DeGeneres Show. Allison Iraheta’s all over the place showing up here today as well. Joy Cryer, Allison Sweeney, and a 9-year-old guitar prodigy guest as well. Syndicated check local listings.
5. Waitress. Keri Russell stars as an abused wife who becomes pregnant and searches for a way to escape while working in a diner. Find out why Hank Yuloff of Film Monthly seemed to like it just as much as me. 4:30 PM CT HBO
What’s Hot On TV Tonight - Slashing the Final Four

I see this going either way. Slash could either be one of those guest mentors on American Idol where you just sit there after the show and facetiously say, “Yeah, that was helpful.” Or he could turn out to be really insightful when you don’t expect it, like Jamie Foxx last week. I agree with Simon that last week ended up being the best final five week ever. Can they keep that momentum going heading into tonight?
1. The View. Guests are Donald and Ivanka Trump and WWE wrestling MVP. Well, that’s an interesting mix. 10:00 AM CT ABC
2. Annie. I can’t even see the name of this movie without singing. Care to join me? “The sun’ll come out tooo-morrow. Bet your bottom dollar that tomorrow …” 11:00 AM CT Hallmark

What’s Hot On TV Tonight - Deal or No Deal Returns

Howie Mandel is back on the air with the primetime version of Deal or No Deal. The question is how long it’s going to be left on the schedule. Carrie Grosvenor at About.com Game Shows explains for tonight and the next few Monday nights the episodes that air will be ones that were taped earlier, but never aired. There is talk about the show possibly coming back after that as “event programming.

3. Live Free or Die Hard. I’m not always one for movie sequels, but this is one of the better ones, just as all the other Die Hard sequels have been. It’s been a few years, but Bruce Willis still has it. Read why it had Del Harvey saying yippyi-ki-yay. 11:30 AM CT HBO Zone
4 The Big Bang Theory. Penny finds out something interesting about Leonard while on a date with Stuart, and Wolowitz asks for help with his NASA project when he finds a design flaw. 7:00PM CT CBS
What’s Hot On TV Tonight - DVR/VCR Alert

This season I have no idea what’s going to happen on tonight’s American Idol as far as timewise. Last season for final five, they decided with each Idol singing two songs that they would save the critiques until the end, but then decide to critique everyone at once after the first song, resulting in Paula Abdul’s screwup of critiquing Jason Castro for his second song which he hadn’t even sung yet. Now they’re having a big problem fitting everything into an hour, which the show is again tonight, yet they again have the final five singing two songs each. Having only two judges critique each didn’t work too well. Despite only being scheduled for one minute of overrun, I’m also recording Fringe, just in case we run over.
1. Journey to the Center of the Earth. Brendan Fraser brings this classic story to a more modern edge. 11:45 AM CT HBO West
2. Dudley Do-Right. Why not just make it a Brendan Fraser Film Fest? He stars in another classic story here. This time in a live action version of the cartoon 11:45 AM CT HBO Family
3. The Bonnie Hunt Show. Bonnie’s guests include Carson Daly, Brandon McMillan, and Phil Keoghan who checks in again from his his bike tour for MS. I know too many people with MS, so anything to raise awareness and funding for research is a good thing. 2:00 PM CT NBC
4. NBA Playoff: Game 5: Bulls at Celtics. Game 5 of the Eastern Conference quarterfinal series. 6:00 PM CT TNT
What’s Hot On TV Tonight - Season Finales of Some Favorites

Aside from that, we also have yet another performance night of Dancing With the Stars. They’ll get their individual dances in as well as two “team dances.” I never really understood why they did that last year, and I still don’t.
