What’s Hot On TV Tonight – March Madness Continues

Well, it wouldn’t be the first time I’ve been accused of that. Just ask my kids, but don’t ask them now. Ask them in a week after they spend Spring Break here with  me.

2. Bride Wars. Starring Kate Hudson and Anne Hathaway as best friends who fight over a wedding day and end up at war with each other and competing weddings, I expected it to be a little better. It’s the writing that kills this one. 10:35 AM CT WMax

6. Pulp Fiction. Truly a classic. One of the coolest things for me has to be that no matter where you tune into the movie, see it through to the end, then wrap it around again from the beginning, it’s sill a complete story. Quentin Tarantino directs, with John Travolta and Samuel L. Jackson starring, among others. 4:00 PM CT AMC

8. Who Do You Think You Are? Executive producer Lisa Kudrow explores her family tree, looking into dramas surrounding the Holocaust and a young Polish sailor. The journey takes her from L.A. to Eastern Europe. 7:00 PM CT NBC

9. Thin Ice. Part 1 of 2. Elizabeth Hasselbeck and Kurt Browning host a figure skating competition highlighting ten pro skaters competing as couples. Michael Weiss, Jamie Salé, and John Zimmerman are among the competitors. 7:00 PM CT ABC

What’s Hot On TV Tonight – Behind the Scenes With The Bachelor

Okay, it’s sparking a little like some over-saturation by ABC of their Bachelor/Bachelorette franchise. We had our Bachelor season, and it really didn’t turn out well for the fans, as we watched Jake Pavelka propose to Vienna Girardi. Then we watched the Bachelor that came before him, Jason Mesnick, get married to Molly Malaney. Can’t we just move on yet to Dancing With the Stars? Not yet jet. Tonight we have a special 20/20 going behind-the scenes with Jason’s ex, Melissa Rycroft as reporter, doing interviews with past Bachelors, Bachelorettes, contestants, couples, etc. Don’t we do that all the time on every After the Final Rose anyway?

23. Secret Diary of a Call Girl. In the first half hour, Belle hires a man’s services for the night to better understand the client/escort relationship and begins to feel guilty about cheating on Duncan … until she finds he spent time with Bambi earlier that night. In the second half hour, it’s the season finale, as a bombshell about Duncan and Bambi is dropped at their wedding, giving her a lot of dirt for the final cpter of her book. 25. Be Good Johnny Weir. Back from Nagano, Johnny continues his training in the hopes of making the trip back to Japan for the Grand Prix Final, and finds out he makes it.  He ramps it up in practice before leaving for Tokyo with Galina and Tara.  Without the distraction of family members, Johnny is able to focus on training, and also becomes a mentor to a 16 year-old Russian who is also coached by Galina.  Johnny’s short and long programs are among the best of his career, and reveal new depths of discipline. 9:30 PM CT Sundance

What’s Hot On TV Tonight – Winter Olympics Continue

A week into it, the Olympics have proved to be exciting. We have Apolo Ohno setting records early on and Evan Lysacek winning gold just last night in men’s figure skating. We’re not done yet, with another week to go. Today we have curling, hocky, and cross-country skiing throughout the day, and tonight, have ice dancing compulsory and Bode Miller in the Men’s Super G final.

1. 31 Days of Oscar. To celebrate the upcoming Academy Awards, Turner Classic Movies is running 31 Days of Oscar, 360 films in all. Today they’re showing Bells are Ringing, Some Came Running, The Sheepman, Forbidden Planet, Blackboard Jungle, Lilies of the Field, Breakfast at Tiffany’s, Hud, Shane, The Blue Dahlia, and All the King’s Men. Begins at 7:00 AM CT Turner Classic Movies

2. The View. Here’s something I can really get behind, having had four different “mutts,” a beagle/poodle/schnauzer mix, an English Setter mix, and now two Airedale Terrier mixes. It’s the second annual “Mutt Show,” which includes Bernadette Peters and Westminster Kennel Club Dog Show commentator David Frei.  Syndicated, check local listings.

4. The Lizzie McGuire Movie. From a mom perspective, I always liked this movie as well as the TV shows. I just thought Lizzie and her friends had it goin’ on. Sure, it was a predictable story in the movie, but still cute. 11:00 AM CT Disney

19. Spartacus: Blood and Sand. With renewed hope towards finding his wife, Spartacus dedicates himself anew to training. Desperate for patronage from Magistrate Calavius, Batiatus has reluctantly agreed to pair Spartacus and his bitter enemy Crixus in a gladiatorial fight to the death with the legendary Theokoles, against whom only one fighter has survived, Doctore. 20/20 looks to be a good one tonight. First they have on a popular high school girl who is working to rebuild her life after her boyfriend shot her in the face. We’ll also have reports on “cat ladies,” the women who have too many cats to count, and we’ll learn what makes them connect to having so many cats at once. They’re going to work to destroy the cultural stereotype.

What’s Hot On TV Tonight – Ugly Betty Returns

It’s just not a good sign when your show is moved to Fridays. It’s almost like that’s the official beginning of Death Watch. Ugly Betty used to be the lead-in for Gray’s Anatomy on Thursday nights, and after Super Nanny has its season premiere next week, that will be the lead-in for Betty, which will be the lead-in for 20/20. ABC must have seen that Betty wasn’t pulling enough of an audience to lead into Gray’s, and must have hopes that Flash Forward will help.

1. Pee-Wee’s Big Adventure. Paul Reubens made this movie in the heyday of his time as Pee-Wee Herman. It’s a classic character for a very classic time. 10:00 AM CT MTV2

2. Martha Stewart Show. It’s a special episode dedicated to Breast Cancer Awareness, with the highlight of the show being the giveaway of a new 2010For Taurus Syndicated, check local listings.

3. Ratatouille. This 2008 Oscar winner for best animated feature is definitely out of the norm for the usual Disney type of film. In some ways, that’s what makes it work. 11:00 AM CT Disney

7. Ghost Whisperer. Melinda visits a haunted hospital morgue. The haunting is by the ghost of a surgeon who is going back to the site of a failed surgery. 7:00 PM CT CBS

8. Law & Order. A mother of ten adopted, disabled kids is murdered, and the investigation exposes an affair and a bid for reality show stardom that caused tension in the house. It sounds like they’re combining a few headlines with this one. 7:00 PM CT NBC

9. Ugly Betty. In the season premiere, Betty starts her new associate editor job at Mode, but doesn’t get along with Matt who is now her boss and feels slighted by her promotion. Daniel has a hard time coping with Molly’s death and the loss of Betty as his assistant, and Justin doesn’t fit in at high school. Lynn Redgrave and Kristen Johnston guest star. 7:00 PM CT ABC

10. Smallville. A Queen Industries party attended by Oliver is crashed by the Toyman. He threatens to bomb it if Oliver doesn’t admit he killed Lex. Jor-El gifts Clark with the ability to hear what others are thinking. 7:00 PM CT CW

11. Medium. The visions of mysterious symbols that Alison sees could be the key to capturing a serial killer, but they could also be the consequences of her brain surgery. 8:00 PM CT CBS

What’s Hot On TV Tonight – Oil Industry Investigation

Tonight we have the special about the oil industry. It was originally supposed to air on Wednesday night, but it was delayed because of President Obama’s news conference. They decided to move the special to tonight and just made it part of Dateline. Possibly we’ll get some answers on why the gas prices are so fickle for the past year with highs and lows.

1. Regis and Kelly. Today’s guest is Heidi Klum. Also, a grilling segment with chef Kevin Howe. Syndicated, check local listings.

2. Chitty Chitty Bang Bang. It’s one of the first movies I can remember seeing in a theater, and it came out when I was 4. Never mind the year. I’ll always have a special place in my heart for this movie and its songs. 4:30 PM CT Retro

3. Chopping Block. Another series finishing out what’s in the can after its cancellation. In the series finale the two remaining couples have service for their opening night, attended by food critics and Piers Morgan, among other celebrities. 7:00 PM CT NBC
