What’s Hot On TV Tonight – A Model Evening

Posted on Wednesday, September 16, 2009 in What's Hot On TV

Last week we had the America’s Next Top Model premiere, and now with that in full swing we have what surely seems to be a companion show for it, The Beautiful Life: TBL, directly following it on CW. This is more drama than reality, and shows new models arriving on the scene in the Big Apple. Ashton Kutcher executive produces, and Mischa Barton, straight from her wisdom teeth drama that sent her to the psych ward, stars.

1. Oprah Winfrey. Oprah remembers Michael Jackson. Syndicated, check local listings.

2. The Parent Trap. Although it’s a Disney remake, it seems ancient and oh-so long ago with Lindsay Lohan as a little girl. Also stars Natasha Richardson, and Dennis Quaid. 9:35 AM CT Starz Kids & Family

3. Bonnie Hunt Show. Today’s guests are Bill Hader and Smokey Robinson, and a baby-abduction story is featured from the series “I Survived …” Syndicated, check local listings.

4. Chitty Chitty Bang Bang. It’s one of the first movies I can remember seeing in a theater, and it came out when I was 4. Never mind the year. I’ll always have a special place in my heart for this movie and its songs. 12:45 PM CT Retro (more…)

What’s Hot On TV Tonight – Jay Leno’s Back!

Posted on Monday, September 14, 2009 in What's Hot On TV

Jay Leno makes his return to TV tonight, and this time we’ll have to get used to seeing him a little earlier than we were used to. NBC seems to have given him a consolation of a nightly show during primetime after taking The Tonight Show away from him and giving it to Conan O’Brien. No one seems very sure about this new show and how it will work, mostly because it takes away an hour of NBC’s programming every night. However, it will be good to see him back on the air once again.

1. Oprah Winfrey. It’s the season premiere as Oprah welcomes Whitney Houston for her first time on the show. Syndicated, check local listings.

2. The Poseidon Adventure. The 1972 original about a cruise ship overturned by a tidal wave on New Year’s Eve. Find out why stars like Gene Hackman, Ernest Borgnine, Shelley Winters, Jack Albertson, Carol Lynley, Red Buttons, Stella Stevens, Roddy McDowall, and Leslie Nielsen make this movie what it is at Sazze. 10:00 SM CT Retro

3. Martha Stewart Show. It’s the season premiere for Martha as well, and today she launches a new monthly segment, “American Treasures” and visits her home in Maine. Also included are recipes for roast chicken and beet salad with Chef Daniel Humm. Syndicated, check local listings.

4. Nim’s Island. Jodie Foster does some great comedy, and Abigail Breslin some great adventure. Find out why it’s such a good film for young girls to see about being their own hero at Sazze. 11:00 AM CT HBO Family East (more…)
