What’s Hot On TV Tonight – Modern Family Premieres

Posted on Wednesday, September 23, 2009 in What's Hot On TV

Out of all the new shows this season, Modern Family seems to be the one everyone is looking forward to the most. And after seeing the pilot, I can back that up, that it’s definitely one of the most exciting comedies I’ve seen in quite awhile. It’s not the same ole same ole, and is very fresh. This isn’t just a Modern Family, but my family and your family. It’s families as they are today. See my review at Small Screen Monthly. After that, catch the premiere of Cougar Town, starring Courtney Cox. The fun starts at 8 PM CT/9 PM ET tonight on ABC.

1. Oprah Winfrey. Mackenzie Phillips appears on the show and is said to make “stunning revelations.” Syndicated, check local listings.

2. Bonnie Hunt Show. Today’s guests are Betty White, Phil Keoghan, and Jeff Ross. Syndicated, check local listings.

3. Bonneville. A widow is at odds with her stepdaughter over what to do with her husband’s ashes, and not ready to let go yet and takes off across the country with her best friends. Find out what happens on the trip at Sazze. 3:00 PM CT Showtime Family East

4. Encino Man. If you can forget that Pauly Shore is in this movie, it’s actually a fun flick. Brendan Fraser and Sean Astin also star in this movie of two high school kids that uncover and thaw out a caveman, then try introduce him to their lifestyle. 3:55 PM CT Showtime East (more…)

What’s Hot On TV Tonight – A Model Evening

Posted on Wednesday, September 16, 2009 in What's Hot On TV

Last week we had the America’s Next Top Model premiere, and now with that in full swing we have what surely seems to be a companion show for it, The Beautiful Life: TBL, directly following it on CW. This is more drama than reality, and shows new models arriving on the scene in the Big Apple. Ashton Kutcher executive produces, and Mischa Barton, straight from her wisdom teeth drama that sent her to the psych ward, stars.

1. Oprah Winfrey. Oprah remembers Michael Jackson. Syndicated, check local listings.

2. The Parent Trap. Although it’s a Disney remake, it seems ancient and oh-so long ago with Lindsay Lohan as a little girl. Also stars Natasha Richardson, and Dennis Quaid. 9:35 AM CT Starz Kids & Family

3. Bonnie Hunt Show. Today’s guests are Bill Hader and Smokey Robinson, and a baby-abduction story is featured from the series “I Survived …” Syndicated, check local listings.

4. Chitty Chitty Bang Bang. It’s one of the first movies I can remember seeing in a theater, and it came out when I was 4. Never mind the year. I’ll always have a special place in my heart for this movie and its songs. 12:45 PM CT Retro (more…)

What’s Hot On TV Tonight – So You Think You Can Dance … Again

Posted on Wednesday, September 9, 2009 in What's Hot On TV

It seems so weird for So You Think You Can Dance to be on tonight. I’m so used to this starting up right after American Idol ends. Yet, Kris Allen and Adam Lambert haven’t even released their new albums yet, and here we are in the second So You Think You Can Dance season since Idol ended.

1. Regis and Kelly. The guests today are Michael Douglas, Tyler Perry, and Laura Leighton. I’ll be interesting to see what Douglas says about his son’s arrest. Syndicated, check local listings.

2. A Goofy Movie. This is one of my favorite Disney movies, believe it or not. It has such a great, strong message of family in it as Goofy works on bonding with his teenage son. Find out more at Sazze. 11:00 AM CT Disney

3. Bonnie Hunt Show. Today’s guests are Dylan McDermott, the cast of Flee, and an outspoken columnist from Akron, Iowa. Syndicated, check local listings.

4. Big. And who doesn’t love Tom Hanks? Here he plays a kid who gets his wish to grow up. Baby corn will forever remind me of him. 12:50 PM CT HBO Comedy East (more…)
