Joanna Krupa, After Dancing With the Stars, an Angel for PETA

Posted on Tuesday, December 1, 2009 in Dancing With the Stars

It’s been one week since the end of Dancing With the Stars, and two weeks after Joanna Krupa was kicked off. So how has she been keeping herself busy? Well, she’s taking part in a PETA campaign and wants to encourage people to never buy puppies and kittens, only adopt. This is mostly in reference to puppy mills and their horrible conditions.

So how is Krupa promoting that? With an ad for PETA that says, “Be an Angel for Animals. Always Adopt. Never Buy.” That’s certainly a nice thought, and we all agree to that one. And to coincide with her usual campaign of “rather go naked than wear fur,” Krupa is naked, dressed as an angel with wings and a halo, and has a cross strategically placed across her middle and breasts. Posted on Tuesday, November 24, 2009 in What's Hot On TV

Who’s it going to be tonight? Mya? Donny Osmond? Kelly Osbourne? My money’s on Donny taking it for the popular vote, while the judges politely applaud Mya, yet another great technician, losing. Kelly isn’t going to win, but will get a standing ovation by all, including her proud papa.

What’s Hot On TV Tonight – Dancing With the Stars Season Finale!

Posted on Monday, November 23, 2009 in What's Hot On TV

It’s the big night tonight with the performances of the three finalists. For something different tonight, they’re not doing both a ballroom and a Latin, as well as a freestyle. They’re only picking a ballroom or Latin, then doing a freestyle and a “megamix” with all of them dancing at the same time. I’m hoping that whichever dance they don’t do tonight will be reserved for judging tomorrow night, as they sometimes do on finale results night. It just seems everyone should be judged on both their ballroom and Latin dancing skills.

1. Martha Stewart Show. Emeril Lagasse makes a Thanksgiving dinner with cider-brined turkey, buttermilk mashed potatoes, and creamed mustard greens. Nicholas Haslam pitches in a floral centerpiece. 11:00 AM CT NBC

What’s Hot On TV Tonight – Merry Madagascar

Posted on Tuesday, November 17, 2009 in What's Hot On TV

While I’m sure it’ll never be a holiday classic like the Charlie Brown Christmas special, the holiday special with our zoo friends that are stranded in Madagascar is still guaranteed to be a lot of fun. The showing of this puts The Biggest Loser and their makeovers back a half hour.

2. Bride Wars. Starring Kate Hudson and Anne Hathaway as best friends who fight over a wedding day and end up at war with each other and competing weddings, I expected it to be a little better. It’s the writing that kills this one. 10:30 AM CT HBO East

3. Rocky. I think my 16-year-old son has seen every underdog sports movie known to man, but for some reason, he’s never caught this one, the quintessential one that really says it all. This is despite the fact that I dressed him as Rocky for his first Halloween. 11:50 AM CT Encore Adventure

4. Bonnie Hunt Show. The guests today are Ken Jeong, Jeff Corwin, and Matt and Gary Tomljenovich, most recently eliminated from The Amazing Race. Syndicated, check local listings. (more…)
