What’s Hot On TV Tonight - Samantha Who Returns

Posted on Thursday, June 25, 2009 in What's Hot On TV

All you Sam fans, rejoice! It’s not for long, though, as we’re most likely just playing out the remaining new episodes that have already been shot, but at least you can watch the remaining episodes knowing this time will be your last. Also up the So You Think You Can Dance results. Who’s going home tonight? Our field will reduce to just fourteen for next week’s performance show.

1. Regis and Kelly. Joanna Philbin guest co-hosts, with Shia LaBeouf and Il Divo as guests. Syndicated, check local listings.

2. Dickie Roberts: Former Child Star. I won’t lie. The best part about this David Spade movie the cameos of 70s child stars such as Danny Bonaduce, Barry Williams, and Corey Feldman. 9:00 AM CT TBS

3. Samantha Who? Sam dates a rock star that had been an idol of her youth, but doesn’t remember how she used to feel about him. Andrea and Dena have no problem remembering him. John Taylor from Duran Duran guest stars. 7:00 PM CT ABC

4. Wedding Day. Jeanelle and Nyk finally get their wedding day after putting it off because of their daughter who was born with a non-functioning kidney. 7:00 PM CT TNT (more…)

What’s Hot On TV Tonight - Two More Dancers Leave!

Posted on Thursday, June 18, 2009 in What's Hot On TV

With such an exceptional cast this season on So You Think You Can Dance, I hate to think of any of them leaving. The dancers that didn’t do so well last night, most notably those that did a Shane Sparks hip hop routine are certainly on the bubble, but they did well last week, as well as Phillip and Jeanine with their tango, and Evan and . All of these couples were favorites the first week, so it would be hard to see any of them go. One thing that was good to see was Brandon earning Lil C’s respect. Now let’s see if he can do the same with Mary Murphy.

1. Regis and Kelly. Joy Philbin guest co-hosts, and Ryan Reynolds guests. Also featured is a fitness quiz and a Mississippi pulled pork sandwich. Syndicated, check local listings.

2. Underdog. There isn’t a lot here that’s reminiscent of the original cartoon series, other than a superhero dog, but it does make for a good family film. 10:10 AM CT Starz

3. The Great Outdoors. Take your summer vacation this year with Dan Aykroyd and John Candy as they go to the cabin to spend some quality family time. 12:00 PM CT TBS

4. Aliens. Here’s a sequel better than the original, as well as a funny anecdote. Back in the day, we had tiny little booklets put out by HBO every month that had all the movies from the month listed as well as a program guide. Looking through it, my dad who was refusing to admit his eyesight was no longer perfect, and asking what this horror movie Allens was all about. 4:00 PM CT AMC (more…)
